DC Universe Online Patched

The SOE Forums have details on a new patch that's now live in DC Universe Online, bringing their MMORPG to version 1.03 (thanks VG247). The change list follows. Continue here to read the full story.

FIFA 12 Plans

Computer and Video Games has details from the latest issue of OPM UK explaining plans for FIFA 12, the next installment in the association football/soccer series. "I think we did a great job with the Personality Plus feature [in FIFA 11]," says EA Canada producer David Rutter, adding: "but the the [sic] teams [AI] doesn't support that quite as much as it should." To Beavis and Butthead's endless delight, he elaborates: "As an example, a team doesn't spot that if Peter Crouch [is] in the area, they can lay a load of high balls onto his head." He also describes set-pieces as an area that can use improvement: "Set-pieces are still a bit lame," he admits. "I get frustrated by not being able to do quick throw-ins, not being able to quickly select my free-kick takers, on the fly stuff. We're somewhat last-gen in the way the game cuts [before those things]."

New UDK Beta

UDK Website now offers the January beta of the Unreal Development Kit, the free edition of the Unreal Engine 3. Beginning with last month the UDK includes iOS support, and a new iOS Development forum offers support for that with "free tutorials, documentation and help from other mobile developers."
