A
post on the NeoGAF Forums recaps some news from EGM #244, the latest issue of the gaming magazine. There are a couple of Gearbox-related tidbits there, one being to expect more details on
Duke Nukem Forever around the end of this month or the beginning of next. On what is perhaps a related note, the poster's account on the magazine's content says that
Aliens: Colonial Marines will not be released this year. The long-in development shooter does not have a set release date, but in
in August 2009 SEGA president Mike Hayes suggested it would not be longer than 12 months after the release of Rebellion's Aliens versus Predator, which took place in February 2010. In
September 2010 "I promise you it will not take as long as Duke Nukem Forever," so they still have at least seven years to get this one out the door. Thanks

The
Codemasters Forums offer a new beta patch for
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising to update the military shooter sequel to version 1.03. The patch is accompanied by a warning that it will only work with retail boxed editions of the game, word that you should back up your saved games, and the usual caveat a beta patch like this is to be used at your own risk. Here's the oddly asterisked blurb on what the new version does: "Added the ability for the game to load user modified*files from the DATA_WIN folder.**This allows modification of*various files and settings installed in the standard version of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising." The download is mirrored on
AtomicGamer and
The Patches Scrolls.
ShipSim.com now offers a new patch for
Ship Simulator Extremes, updating this game of extreme boating to version 1.3.0. The patch is also available from
AtomicGamer and
The Patches Scrolls. The new version has a lengthy list of new features and improvements, all outlined in
the patch notes, and handily reproduced below.
