Eurogamer (by way of NeoGAF) has a show reel for animator Hanjin Song with footage from several games, including scenes of a stealthy James Bond that clearly seems to be the stealth game recently rumored to have resumed production at Raven Software. This skinned and unskinned footage includes some third-person stealth, a little gunplay, a parkour chase sequence, and the now-classic Casino Royale swirlie.
Eurogamer has a follow-up to EA's recent comments on OnLive, as CFO Eric Brown discussed the cloud gaming service in an address at the UBS Annual Media and Communications Conference in New York. He expresses doubts about the costs of the service, apparently unaware of OnLive's recent change in business model. He also echoes the common sentiment that latency will be an issue. "When it comes to videogames, particularly first person shooter games, anything less than a response time of 30 or 40 milliseconds is unacceptable and by definition anything going through a streaming platform is going to go through a series of switches etc.," he said "So the question I have long term is can that latency be overcome?"
This page now offers online sales of Rising Sun, an expansion for Strike Fighters and Strike Fighters 2 which adds the World War II Pacific Theater to the combat flight simulator, beginning with the attack on Pearl Harbor that occurred 69 years ago today. Details on all this are scant, but this page has a couple of forum posts.
A new patch is now available for The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom to update the management/strategy sequel to version 1.11. The Settlers 7 Website is still a couple of versions behind, and the patch news on the Ubisoft forums is likewise out of date, but Ubisoft does have the full patch on their file server. We couldn't as easily guess the filenames of the other patches, but they are all now available from AtomicGamer, The Patches Scrolls, and WorthPlaying. The new version is also available automatically though Steam, where we can find the patch notes, which include word that the new version adds a new Monhaim Valley map for skirmish and multiplayer as well as several new Occult Technologies. The full patch notes follow. Continue here to read the full story.

Today is the launch of the new Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft, Blizzard's all-conquering MMORPG. There were midnight launch events in the wee hours, and if you missed out, you can relive the magic by opening all your windows and watching the video on GameSpot or the video on OC Register. There's a report on the launch in the U.K. on MCV. There are First Impressions on PC Gamer where they also have 15 reasons to play Cataclysm. Atari officially announces Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, the recently revealed sequel to Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The game will offer four-player co-op gameplay when it is released via digital distribution in Spring 2011 for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Word is: "The action-packed gameplay progresses as players complete jobs as fearless rookies who explore a series of haunted environments that must be cleared of any ectoplasmic threats. The gripping adventure rages on as players encounter gigantic bosses that require a concentrated effort to defeat using a medley of highly destructive weapons including the Proton Stream, Plasma Inductor, and the Fermion Shock. Rookie Ghostbusters will face the dangers of the eerie world alone or with a ghostbusting team of friends both locally or online through the game’s multiplayer capability." The game's website is accepting newsletter signups, this trailer shows off frenetic gameplay with some stream-crossing and a bit of vehicular mayhem, and here are a batch of screenshots. The embedded version of the clip follows. Continue here to read the full story.
An article on Kotaku on the future of PC gaming includes a release window for The Agency, the espionage-themed MMORPG in the works at Sony Online Entertainment. According to president of SOE John Smedley, the game is now expected in the second half of 2011, saying it was delayed because it needed a lot of work. "There was a moment in time in our company where we looked at our own stuff with a clear eye and saw we have to do better," he said of the delay. "DC Universe was held for a year-and-a-half from when we wanted to launch it and now I'm very happy with it." Thanks Computer and Video Games.

Today is the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that drew the U.S. into World War II. Chris Berman noted the anniversary during last night's Monday Night Football game which seemed a little odd, as he made the comment during the Toyota Halftime Show. I wonder how the sponsors felt about that, but I guess it was in keeping with FDR calling this "a date which will live in infamy."
