Shmusicup (Shoot-music-up) is an upcoming shooter from carefulTzai Entertainment "where you get to play against your own music collection" (be careful, Milli Vanilli uses an aimbot). The Stardock interview on Gaming Nexus talks with Derek 'Kael' Paxton about his role at the indie publisher/developer as they try and whip Elemental: War of Magic into shape. Here's word on that: "I love the concept of Elemental, I think it has the potential to be a great game. But I don't love the implementation. That's good news because if the concept was simply flawed it couldn't be improved. I believe Stardock has done a lot of work to improve the game since its initial release and Elemental is now stable and fun to play. But I don't think the job is done. Stardock is committed to making Elemental great, and we have everything we need to make that happen. As for turning around the perception of the game, I believe that if you create a great game everything else will fall into place."

We had a very enjoyable Halloween yesterday, as always the kids around here were exceptionally nice (even the boys covered in shaving cream), and the doggies greatly enjoyed the attention their costumes earned them, which is why Halloween is right up there with Thanksgiving as their favorite day of the year. We ended up reusing a Batman costume from a previous Halloween to make them the more well-matched Batman and Robin combo, and they were a big hit, and perhaps for the first time did not traumatize a single child, as we're usually good for one screamer a year. We also had a very strong turnout, probably in part thanks to it falling on a Sunday, and don't even have our usual slightly ridiculous amount of candy leftover. All in all, a rousing success.
