Shacknews has some tidbits from a QuakeCon post-keynote Q&A with John Carmack. The id Software technical director expresses interest in cloud gaming, saying there are problems like draconian DRM schemes it will solve, and that a lot of people will end up playing games using the cloud model. He also expresses puzzlement over the issue being made over dedicated server support, but backs off from the
couple of
indications that
RAGE would not have dedicated server support, saying this is still undecided, but adding he "expects it will be possible [to run a dedicated server] for Rage."

EA has registered
a new domain for Imperator, notes information sleuthing site
superannuation.
Imperator is the title of a science fiction MMORPG announced by Mythic Entertainment
eight years ago, but this project was placed "on hold"
in June 2005, about a year before its scheduled release, and
EA's Mythic acquisition.
A note on
superannuation shows us another domain they've discovered, noting that THQ has registered
redfactionbattlegrounds.com, presumably for an upcoming installment in Volition's
Red Faction shooter series. This can be added to the several other Red Faction domains they registered
back in April.
We're getting to spend some time today with friends who have been living overseas for a couple of years now during their once-a-year foray back to the States from Japan. We're all set with some goodies for the grill, and in a nice stroke of luck, are enjoying what is supposed to be the normal weather for this time of year, with temps in the low 80s for what seems like the first time all summer.
