GameInformer reports that Patrice Désilets has parted ways with Ubisoft, presumably stealthfully, since he had been the creative director on the
Assassin's Creed series. The story was originally reported as a rumor, but was later updated with a quote from Ubisoft with confirmation: "With his role on project essentially done, Patrice Désilets has decided to take a creative break from the industry and is no longer working on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood."
A new community patch is now available for
Gothic 3, unofficially updating the fantasy-themed role-playing sequel from Piranha Bytes to version 1.74. There's an update on the new version on the
JoWooD Forums, and the patch is mirrored on

Thanks to everyone who clarified that the horrible background noise during the World Cup games is unrelated to the tournament or the sport, but rather comes from horns called vuvuzelas, which are apparently a very popular noise-maker at sporting events in South Africa. There's a little hope, as
this article (thanks ColoradoHoudini) says there is talk of banning them because of how irritating folks find them, with the captain of the French team saying it's actually hard to sleep because the vuvuzela playing begins at 6:00 am.
