Stargate Resistance Website has word that another free play weekend for the Stargate third-person shooter is underway. Word is: "We hope you enjoy your free weekend of playtime during this special event which begins 12:01 a.m. on Saturday May 1st (PST) and runs through 12:01 a.m. Monday May 3rd. You will be able to sample three different worlds and 6 different classes in a high action battle between the System Lords and the SGC for Galactic Domination." Thanks

The promised debut teaser trailer for
Call of Duty: Black Ops is now available, offering a first look at the next installment in the military shooter series. Also,
Gametrailers, which at the moment has a prestitial takeover that directs to the trailer, and also has what they call
a "pop block" edition of the trailer, which has subtitles and breaks down some of the clip's fast-cut visuals to seek clues about the nature of the project. They find what seem to be references to the Cold War, the Vietnam War, arctic environments, intense gore (a scene where a soldier loses a leg), Vietcong militia, a possible "drag and revive" game mechanic, a Vietnam era UH-1A Huey helicopter, the ability to breach by rappelling through a window or with a zipline, an Aussie assault rifle introduced in 1978, a modernized assault rifle, chopper piloting and gunner gameplay, squad mates, base-jumping, a POW rescue scenario, and an SR-71 Blackbird, all concluding with an 11/9/10 release date. Q&A Session #4 on the DotA Forums has answers from IceFrog, developer of the
Defense of the Ancients modification who was hired by Valve
last October. One of his replies to community questions indicates we may not have to wait very long to see what he is working on at Valve: "It certainly won't take that long. There are a lot of very talented people here at Valve that are working hard on it every day to ensure high quality in a timely manner. We'll be making an announcement soon actually, and based on the feedback I've been getting since the last mention, I'm sure you all will be as excited as I am." Thanks

PlanetSide Website now sports a countdown clock that shows about 17˝ days remaining before it hits zero.
Planetside Universe contacted Sony Online Entertainment seeking details on what this was about, wondering if this means a
PlanetSide 2 announcement or a PlanetSide shutdown is coming, and were told the countdown is "PlanetSide Anniversary Related," though no other details were offered. PlanetSide went live on May 20, 2003.
Steam News has word on another new patch that's now automatically available for
