A post on
AustralianGamer.com confirms plans for downloadable content for
BioShock 2. That DLC is coming for the shooter sequel in the works at 2K Games is not surprising, though it's interesting to note that it is already in development. They offer the following quote from Kent Hudson, Senior Systems Designer for 2K Marin: "Absolutely! We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that's actually something that is already under-way. That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing." Thanks

The ESRB listing for The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom indicates this puzzle/adventure game will be released for Windows as well as XBLA, where it is expected next month, as they list Windows PC and Xbox 360 under platforms. Word is: "This is a puzzle-adventure game in which players assume the role of a notorious pie thief named P.B. Winterbottom. Players complete puzzles and quests and collect pies scattered throughout the stylized levels—reminiscent of silent-movie design. As players run, jump, smack, and stack, they may encounter a character named 'Turdmuffin' or view an illustration of dogs under the caption 'Held their bladders in check with enormous will power.'" Thanks

There's a
sound implementation demo on Vimeo posted by former GRIN audio designer Jonatan Crafoord with footage said to be from
Fortress, the
cancelled game from GRIN believed to be a sequel to
Final Fantasy XII. The clip shows some concept art, bits of combat involving no mercy for an opponent who doesn't fight back (the clip is about the audio), and some ostrich riding. Thanks
GameVideos where they have a version of the clip with all of Jonatan's narration removed, which is also available on the
YouTube.

There's an
Aion postmortem on
GameSetWatch with excepts from an article in the latest print issue of
Game Developer magazine. The look back at development of the MMORPG is written by NCsoft's internal development team, based in Seoul, South Korea. Topics include the disruptive nature of comparisons to competing games very early in the development process, the difficulties adapting the CryENGINE to an MMOG, and the difficulties of appealing to both casual and hardcore players.

I'm talking putting explosions on more explosions. Guns with guns taped to other guns taped to a chainsaw. Ramping a motorcycle made of super-models off the face of a cyber-demon you just utterly destroyed with three rocket launchers fired simultaneously. And you're thinking correctly. You fired the third with your penis.
We're enjoying the last weekend of full football action today, as after today there are only three more games to play over the next three weeks. I say we because over the years MrsBlue has become more of a fan, and has even been known to seek out Monday Night Football games on her own. Yes, I'm a lucky man.
