The
Team Fortress 2 Blog has another update on the
Soldier/
Demoman war currently underway in Team Fortress 2. The post points to a
newspaper image that points to
an article introducing a new crafting system for the teamplay shooter and a new
Team Fortress 2 Saxton Hale Comic in throwback Jack Kirby style. Word on the Crafting system is: "EVERYTHING in your inventory now contributes towards something you actually WANT, and can build YOURSELF! If you’re super clever, you’ll even be able to craft new items before others can earn them the old fashioned way." Here's more:
Blueprints—some of which you’ll get right off the bat, others of which you’ll have to puzzle out on your own—will tell you which ingredients you’ll need to combine to make different items. Think of blueprints as recipes, but instead of making Chicken Cordon Bleu, they makes guns! And hats! And Sandviches, which in retrospect would have helped our analogy better if we’d mentioned that first. No time to correct it! We’re in the middle of a WAR here—this Crafting information needs to get to the people!
Another trailer reveal from yesterday's VGA's is that a third installment in the
True Crime series is in the works at United Front Games. The clip is available on
GameTrailers showing the game's setting in the streets (and strip clubs) of China.
Tom Jubert's portfolio now offers the free release of
ir/rational, a new puzzle game written by the writer of the Penumbra series and featuring music from Penumbra composer Mikko Tarmia. Word is: "ir/rational features a unique argument formation system that was once planned as a part of the Penumbra series, and follows a dark philosophical comedy as one man attempts to come to terms with his own rationality."
The
Medal of Honor trailer from last night's VGAs shows off gameplay from the
reccently announced next Medal of Honor game, which brings the series into the modern era. The clip can be found on
GameTrailers.com.
Behind the scenes of Star Trek Online with Cryptic’s Daniel Stahl on GameZone is an interview covering various aspects of the upcoming Star Trek MMORPG. Included is an explanation of how you can even play as Ensign Redshirt if you are feeling fatalistic: "Fortunately, all Starfleet players start as an officer and select whether they are science, engineering or tactical (red shirt) at character creation. Every player character is high enough rank to captain a starship, so you don’t have to worry about grinding out XP (experience points) as someone’s fall guy. That said, if you’re feeling lucky, choose the red shirt and see how long you can last before you bite it on an away mission."
