TrackMania 2 has been unveiled at the
Paris Game Festival, as a number
of comments on
the TrackMania Forums indicate.
This post
has links to pictures of the racing sequel's unveiling on
Twitter, while some tweets from this
French Twitter feed indicate the game
is expected next year. Last but not least, there's a ShakyCam video of a game
trailer on YouTube
that's pretty impressive, considering it is fairly washed out and frequently out
of focus. This
thread on TrackMania 2 Forum has an ongoing collection of links with details

A beta demo for Empires of Steel is now available, offering a sample of
upcoming global domination strategy game, which you can check out between now
and when the demo expires on October 31. Word is: "It will allow you to explore
and test many of the unique features EoS has to offer first hand. While there
are some limitations in place, the beta demo does allow for largely unrestricted
multiplayer games (up to 8 players) on a special DemoMap, and does allow peeks
at some of the advanced game features such as the full featured map and unit set
editor, the in-game mod and scenario sharing system, the built-in game updater
and much more." The demo is available for download from
Battlefront.com,
FanGaming, and
Gamer's Hell.
The new Linux dedicated server for Call of Duty: World at War
corresponding to the newly released version 1.6 patch for
Treyarch's World War II shooter is now available. The download can be found on

The All
Points Bulletin Gang War Gameplay Trailer on GameTrailers.com offers
another look at Realtime Worlds' upcoming multiplayer action game. The clip
demonstrates violence with guns, violence with cars, and even violence with guns
in cars. Also, there's a new
E.J. Moreland
Interview video on GameTrailers where APB's lead designer talks about
the game, saying it centers on three elements: "creativity, conflict, and
celebrity." Along the way he reconfirms the note found in the
game's FAQ back in August
that they "aren't requiring a subscription." He also reiterates their release
roadmap, saying: "It's coming out Q1 2010," and pushing back the expected start
of closed beta testing from weeks to "a couple of months."
Ubisoft announces that Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is now available
in North America for Windows and various consoles, offering a tie-in with the
animated movie of the same name. A playable demo for the PC can be downloaded
from Ubisoft's Fun Zone,
and here's a bit on what the game offers: "Players assume the role of Flint, the
hero-inventor of the movie, and immerse themselves in an interactive re-creation
of the movie's exciting and hilarious story. Using Flint's new and exclusive
wacky gadgets to defeat massively mutated food enemies and ultimately to stop
the machine that is causing food to rain from the sky, players will run, climb,
dodge, melt, punch, slice and dice and puzzle-solve their way through more than
20 levels spread out over 7 different environments taken from the movie;
everything from Ice Cream Falls, to Jelly Castle Land! Play single-player, or
team up with a friend to play as Flint's pet monkey Steve, to drop-in/drop-out

punching glove gadget, sling spaghetti with the 'Forkamajigger!', or launch
burritos in the "Outtasighter” vehicle!"
The release trailer for Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim is now
available on the YouTube
for the just-released RTS sequel. Word is: "Behold as the champion, approached
by a sleeping troll, must weigh his options and decide whether to slay the
monster and collect a sizeable cash reward or flee and keep his bones and
internal organs intact. Of course, our courageous hero could just opt for a
couple of pints down at the local tavern."
The Road to Diablo III on Gamasutra interviews Julian "Courtney" Love and
Kevin "House" Martens about Diablo III, Blizzard's upcoming action/RPG.
Along the way, they give up the "secret" to Blizzard's success: "Here's the
secret to Blizzard games, and this is a secret that won't help any of our
competitors: endless iteration. We'll take something, we'll put it in the game.
Maybe we'll like it when we put it in, maybe we won't. We'll leave it in there
for a while, we'll let it percolate. We'll play it and play it and play it, and
then we'll come back. We might throw it all out, or we'll throw half of that out
and redo it."

Left 4 Dead 2 Interview on Planet Half-Life is their PAX conversation
with Chet Faliszek about Valve's upcoming zomificated shooter sequel. They
discuss the community backlash to the initial announcement, gameplay changes,
