This Konami Blog has word from Jon Murphy, Konami Europe's Pro Evolution
Soccer Team Leader, saying a demo of the academy football/soccer sequel is

You'll get a chance to see the new PES for yourselves and make up your minds
about how we've reflected what the what [sic] fans want." Via

The
Battlefield 2 UK Forums offer downloads of a fix for users experiencing
crashes when attempting to ALT+TAB in Battlefield 2 since installing the
recently released version 1.50 patch for DICE's military shooter
(apparently bugs can slip through even after 14 months of beta testing). Word is
they are also looking on implementing this fix into the full patch so this
problem will be solved going forward.
There's a trailer on the
YouTube with a ShakyCam view of what was shown off of Star Wars: The Old
Republic at PAX, though the clip is neither steady nor perfectly in-focus.
The clip shows combat with blasters and light sabers, as well as locations on
the planet of Coruscant. Also, a new holorecord in the Jedi Archive narrated by
Jedi Master Gnost-Dural (aka a new trailer on the
Star Wars: The Old
Republic Website narrated by actor Lance Henriksen) offers a fourth
installment in this series of clips outlining the timeline of the Old Republic.
The RAGE interview on
UGDB chats with Tim Willits and Matt Hooper, respectively the Creative
Director and Lead Designer on RAGE, id Software's upcoming
post-apocalyptic fist-person shooter. Topics include the reasons of id creating
its first new IP in over a decade, the game's story, how this story will be told
in the game, using weapons and items, environments, the game's vehicular
elements, a comment about framerates we have a tough time understanding ("The
console versions of RAGE will run just as fast as the PC. But we will know how
fast exactly when the game is ready and shipped."), and more.
The
Chet Faliszek Interview on Eurogamer talks with the Valve writer about
Left 4 Dead 2, the upcoming co-op zombie shooter sequel. He discusses how
Valve's approach to game development has not changed, seemingly contradicts that
by saying: "It's modular now! It's very modular now," outlines changes to the
Game Director, the problems with dynamically generated content, the game's lack
of persistency, the ongoing questions over whether a sequel is justified so
soon, and more.
Randy Pitchford Speaks
on IGN talks with Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford about
Borderlands, their upcoming bazillion gun shooter that will feature RPG
elements. Topics include how the game is basically done in advance of next
month's planned release, the addictive appeal of crack-dispenser
loot-dropping games, goals of the game, humor, marketing, game journalism, and
of course another telling of story about the art team's insurrection to create
the game's look.
The first public release of the
Airborn modification for Unreal Tournament III is now available. This
mod is an action/adventure which does not seem to be quite as focused on flight
as the name implies, though the clip on the page features a couple of hot-air
balloons in the background and the player is shown traveling with the aid of a
pogo-stick. This release version is said to feature a higher degree of polish
than the version created for the Make Something Unreal competition but is still
"more or less a visual techdemo with basic gameplay added."
The Mod DB Page for the
Renegade X mod for Unreal Tournament III has some details on the
Renegade X mod that looks to recreate
some gameplay from Command & Conquer Renegade, the action game based on
the C&C universe. There are screenshots and details for the project, there's a
Summer 09 Trailer on the
YouTube, and word to expect public beta testing of the project by September
30. Thanks

Happy Labor Day to all who are celebrating the occasion by not working, as well
as those of us who are putting in little time today. More importantly this
year, good luck to those who are hunting for labor in this tough job market.
