Ryan Gordon's .plan file has an update from the Linux whiz, who speaks of
the pompatice of love, as well as a new build of the Linux client for
Prey,
Human Head's first-person shooter. The new version fixes some bugs, adds support
for more mouse buttons, and tweaks the installer with additional localization
options and the ability to import your retail CD key. There is also a
corresponding updated version of the Linux playable demo.
The
NVIDIA
Drivers Download Page is where to find version 182.06 WHQL-certified
reference drivers for NVIDIA accelerators. The new drivers are recommended "for
the best experience in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin," and also boast performance
boosts in certain configurations over the version 181.22 drivers running
Fallout 3,
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin,
Half-Life 2,
Left 4 Dead, and
Race Driver: GRID. The new drivers also include full support for OpenGL
3.0, and automatically install new version 9.09.02.03 PhysX system software.
These look like they were actually released last week, so thanks to
Laurence and Bruce for the catch.
PennLive.com - Gamefly - Buyer Be Aware.
"I can't recommend Gamefly to anyone. It is a great concept but if I pay $23
a month, I want a guarantee that I will get 2 games at a time which is what
I would be paying for. I had 16 games in my queue and they had none of those
titles available, despite most of them being marked as 'High Availability.'
It is entirely possible that you could pay $23 and receive nothing for an
entire month and Gamefly will still charge you. They will claim your titles
were unavailable and as they promise nothing, you will be unable to legally
dispute the charges."
Hey tonight's the
Oscars, huh? Well a lot of
years I see none of the films involved before the awards, but at least this year
I saw
The Dark Knight. Rather than try and parlay that expertise into a
set of predictions, I'll just point to
loonyboi's
treatise on the topic, an annual tradition with presumably that much more
accuracy due to the loony one's newfound enhanced proximity to Hollywood.
By the way, if you're looking for me on the Red Carpet tonight, I'll be wearing
Prada.
