Santa Monica, CA – February 10, 2009 – New conflicts are on the horizon for one of the most intense online multiplayer games of 2008, as Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch, announced plans today to release Call of Duty®: World at War Map Pack 1. Due out in March, Call of Duty®: World at War Map Pack 1 will take Xbox 360™, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows® PC fans to the streets of a war-ravaged Berlin in “Nightfire,” deep into deadly jungles to attack fortified Japanese positions in “Knee Deep” and through a bombed out underground subway system in “Station.” The Call of Duty®: World at War Map Pack 1will also expand upon the fan-favorite four-player co-op Nazi Zombie bonus mode with “Verrückt” (Zombie Asylum) – a fourth map that features more weapons, new Perks-a-Cola machines, electroshock defenses and endless, attacking legions of undead.

NecroVisioN Demo

The NecroVisioN Website now offers the English-language demo for NecroVisioN, following the recent French demo for the supernatural World War I shooter. Downloads of the demo are mirrored on AtomicGamer, ComputerGames.ro, FanGaming, FileFront, Gamer's Hell, and Strategy Informer, and here's the official description of what to expect:

In the beginning of the demo you will have to battle your way through the German lines, dispatching the Kaiser's soldier's as they fight from their trenches. Players will be able to use traditional Allied weapons, such as the Colt 1911 and the Lee Enfield or select from the German Luger and Gewehr rifles once they have been taken from the battlefield. There are also sharp bayonets, heavy machine-guns, trench guns and if truly desperate, a shovel to batter the enemy's spiked helmets flat.

Skipping past the story's tongue-in-cheek twists, players are abandoned in the midst of an underworld war that has gone on for centuries. Demons battle the Undead in a never ending conflict paralleling the war above the soil. As players plough through the hordes of the seven pits they will be using special Vampiric versions of familiar weapons such as SMGs and shotguns, as well as their secret weapon The Shadowhand.

Out of the Blue

We're in the midst of the annual Westminster Dog Show, but I have to admit MrsBlue and I have fallen out of the habit of watching like we used to. The Airedales never win, and the poodles have those fruity show cuts, which puts a damper on our rooting interests, and to be honest, after watching a few times you grow so familiar with the presentation that it seems like the same show over and over again.
