GameSpot reports setbacks for the second and third DLC packages for the PC
and Xbox 360 editions of Fallout 3, learning from Bethesda Softworks' Pete Hines
that, "The next DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt, will be out in March," and "Broken
Steel will be out the following month, in April." No reasons for the delays are

about the downloadable content for the post-apocalyptic action/RPG, though this
is concerned with the content and goals of the DLC itself, rather than any
changes in release schedules.
Executive
Pursuits - Turning Whimsy Into a Video Classic. Maybe is a New York Times
article recapping a reporter's visit to Eidos Montreal to learn about video game
production. He got to participate in some prototyping for a project called
World of Hurt: Boom or Bust as they explored the possibilities of a game
based on dealing with the current global financial crisis, and some of the moral
implications of balancing greed and conscience.

Steam, a free download
for owners of any retail Source engine game. If you aren't familiar, here is
the official description of this acclaimed project: "Eternal Silence is a
science fiction mod that pits two capital ships against each other in a seamless
blend of space warfare and tactical infantry combat. Pilots coordinate strikes
with invading infantry in order to take down the behemoth capital ships from
both the inside and out."
The
AP reports a settlement of the lawsuit over the Godfather game(s)
filed last year by Anthony Puzo, son of Godfather novelist Mario
Puzo. Terms of the settlement are not revealed, but you can be sure Paramount
made the Puzo estate an offer, well, you know.
The Escapist reports that no layoffs are currently planned at Brighter
Minds, in spite of the recent Chapter 11 filing by the World of
Goo publisher. They quote representative Mia McPherson saying the company
has: "no plans to lay anybody off as we have a great team that is going to do
great things." She goes on to express confidence the company will successfully
emerge from reorganization: "If anything, this will allow our business to go
stronger, and we are moving forward with several new projects that we're very

DC Universe Online interview on GameDaily talks with comic vet Marv Wolfman
about him joining the development team for DC Universe Online. Here's
Marv's role in production of the superhero MMORPG in his own words: "Geoff Johns
did a masterful job of creating an overview concept for the DC Online game. My
job is to take what Geoff did and expand on it. Giving story to the overview,
moving the characters and gameplay forward and essentially creating a larger
document that I and other writers can create the nitty gritty details around."
