Call Of Duty: World At War
Ships In The UK is the press release announcing Treyarch's World War II
shooter sequel has arrived in the UK following its release in US,
reversing the order of entry of the two nations in the actual second world war:
"Call of Duty: World at War takes players to a grittier WWII than ever before –
from facing down Imperial Japanese Banzai charges and guerilla tactics in the
Pacific – to exacting ruthless revenge as you beat back the enemy all the way to
the steps of Berlin one bloody inch at a time. In addition to introducing
franchise-first four-person cooperative gameplay, Call of Duty: World at War
serves up a host of new enemies/tactics and a cache of weapons, like the
flamethrower. The highly-anticipated title also delivers deep multiplayer action
that features squad and vehicular combat, as well as a lush audio landscape set
in 5.1 surround sound, accompanying cinematically-intense, high-definition
graphics."
Steam News has word of an
automatic update that's now available for the Left 4 Dead demo. The
update addresses a few bugs, and adds the ability to tie Left 4 Dead game
servers to Steam Community groups. An update is also available for the
Steam client improving
Games for Windows integration, and there's also an updated
Half-Life 1 engine to
address a bug.
The Crysis
Warhead Developer Blog has details on an upcoming version 1.2 patch to
update the Crysis Wars multiplayer mode for Crytek's first-person
shooter. Here's what they say about the follow-up to the recent
version 1.1 patch: "In this patch you’re going to see plenty of game
balancing issues fixed and several other issues getting resolved. The team has
been hard at work testing all the updates that are included in the patch and
things have been carefully tweaked to make sure you guys get given a great
update that you’ll all be really happy with. You'll be seeing several stability
issues solved with this update, as well as lots more game balancing issues and
exploits fixed to be fairer for everyone." Thanks Gamer's Hell.
EA announces Path 3 for Spore is near, saying: "Patch 3 is coming soon —
make sure to download it when it arrives. We’re happy to include 24 free new
limbs for your SPORE™ creatures — dial up your creepiness with insectoid and
exoskeleton legs." They also say information can be found on the
Spore Patch Page,
though all it says there is "Looking for patch 3 information? Check back soon!"
In the meantime, they are also offering a new
teaser movie
promoting sales of the Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack on Tuesday.
Tribal Trouble 2 is offering beta
access to their browser-based real-time strategy game: "Oddlabs has released new
updates for Tribal Trouble 2 beta. This release includes a new quest, The Chant,
that offers some very worthy opponents for experienced players. A new
multiplayer island, Golden Hill, has also been added, introducing the new
Treasure game mode where you fight for control of a treasure. In addition to the
new islands, the update includes several improvements to the interface, better
usability in the Boot Camp quest as well as various bug fixes including
optimizations for smoother gameplay."
The launch trailer for Prince of Persia is now available, setting the
story for the upcoming platformer sequel/reboot, providing the prince's
motivation for running and jumping all over the place. The clip is posted on
ActionTrip,
AtomicGamer, and
Gamer's Hell. There is
also a new "story" trailer from the game with a similar theme, featuring less
gameplay footage and a more feminine voice-over on
AtomicGamer and
Gamer's Hell.
