The revelation earlier this year of plans for a game from Marc Ecko
Entertainment based on the serial killer show
Dexter
(
story) was a little light on details, and had no indication
about the game's target platforms, though it seems the iPhone was announced as
one of them at some point after that.
Joystiq now says that this game will also be released for PC after attending
a
Dexter-themed party thrown by Marc Ecko Entertainment (where we can
only hope they graffitied the walls). No release date is offered, but word is if
the iPhone/PC release is successful, the game will find its way onto other
platforms as well.
The
Alien Arena Website now has
a new version 7.2.0 of this freeware first-person shooter. Word is: "The most
signifigant [sic] changes are with the renderer, which has not only been greatly
optimized, but a host of new and enhanced features/effects have been added.
Gameplay was not neglected - new features such as a reward system and anti-lag
were implemented, as well as some nice improvements to weapon balance and
various bugfixes." The
change log
outlines specifics.
Sigma Team now offers The
Theseus: Return of the Hero as a free game based on their
Alien Shooter
series (
story). Word is: "As you may remember, Theseus - Return
of the Hero is based on the Alien Shooter legend. You'll need to free a small
European town from extraterrestrial monster invasion. Start in the suburb, set
free the survivors and eliminate the Great Evil that hides in an ancient
labyrinth." Thanks

WorldOfWar.Net relays a warning from Blizzard for
World of Warcraft
owners planning on installing the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for the
MMORPG. It seems the expansion will ship with version 3.0.1, so if you've still
got the version 3.0.2 patch on hand, you are advised not to delete it, so you
can easily get back to the latest version after installing the expansion. Thanks
Ant.

Frans has been continuing his hard work at injecting further doses of awesome
into our forums, which had previously been somewhat awesome-deficient. Most
noticeably, you can now request email updates when a thread is updated. Also, to
assist in keeping the war on trolls on the right track, there is now a button to
report offensive posts, though as always, only posts that violate our fairly
lenient rules will be deleted.
