Spore Patch Thread
Problems & Solutions on the Spore Forum (the Sporum) outlines problems users
are having with the newly released version 1.1 patch for
Spore
(
story) along with possible solutions and workarounds. There
seems to be reason for concern based on
this Stability Poll
on the Sporum, as a very limited sampling (100 votes as of this writing)
indicates 36% of all respondents and 42% of those who have installed the patch
are having stability issues after patching. Thanks James.
Trine Game Studios
unveils plans for
Wings of Control, an aerial combat game with a TBA
release date for Windows XP and Vista. They offer some screenshots, concept art,
and the following description: "Experience intense low altitude air to air
combat between aircrafts with an exorbitant list of advanced weaponry in Wings
of Control. Pilot powerful airplanes designed in an alternate history for the
purpose of totalitarian ownership of the skies. Seven unique aircrafts offer an
ever altering game play experience. Complete with game evolving environments
which are designed to enhance aircraft abilities for every game mode. Go pilot
these beautiful pieces of machinary [sic] and take on against other through LAN,

also reveals development of
Legends of Great India, a Windows real-time
strategy game with no set release date. A number of pieces of concept art
accompanies the following description: "'Legends of Great India' is a Real Time
Strategy Game that captures the epic stories and characters of Ancient India.
Players will be able to experience the power of heroes and Gods such as Arjuna,
Hanuman, Ganesh, Ram, Shiva and many more. With their help you must save the
future of India from all evil, including Ravan and all else who desires evil.
The goal for the game is to have the Indian people discover their inner gamer.
By creating an interactive world filled with the stories and cultures that the
Indian people have grown to love and cherish. The Game is set to be as epic as
all the traditional stories, utilizing great godly powers, and commanding
hundreds of troops. Legends of Great India has completed pre-production phase

WolfeGames now offers RC2 of
P.U.R.E., a freeware real-time strategy game described like this: "Set in a
world where Humanity is attempting to wrest their devastated civilization from
the evil AI known as the Overmind, P.U.R.E. is a fantastic game that we're sure

remake of the original
Red Alert using the public source from the RTS.

Yankees head for
pastures new (thanks Mike Martinez). Tonight is the last game at The Stadium. I think
this is the baseball equivalent of blasphemy, and I'm a Mets fan. I can't
imagine how Yankees fans must feel; I imagine I'd be apoplectic.
