Action-Inside has first details on Delta Force: Angel Falls,
reporting a July 2009 release for the upcoming continuation of NovaLogic's Delta
Force series of special forces first-person shooters first teased earlier this
year ( story). They have some screenshots making it clear the
voxels from the early DF games are not part of Angel Falls, some information
about the game's setting in the near future in South America, and a plot
centered around local conflicts in the vicinity of Colombia and Venezuela. They
say the game will offer three campaigns, 12 missions, 12 multiplayer
maps several multiplayer modes, and authenticity based on consultations with
actual Delta Force operatives. They also outline a fairly modest set of system
requirements. Thanks 2112.
Gametrailers is
serving up a new launch trailer for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway,
showing off the World War II shooter sequel due in stores on this month. The
clip is pretty gory, but hey, war is hell. Also, the game's PC system
requirements have been revealed; these include a 2.6 GHz dual-core CPU (3 GHz
for Intel Pentium D 925), 1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended), and the following video
cards: ATI RADEON X1600/1650/1950/HD 2000/3000 series and NVIDIA GeForce
6800/7/8/9 series. The most interesting part is this: "Peripherals Supported:
Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360® Controller for Windows
recommended).
The TaleWorld's Forum offers a new version of Mount & Blade, updating
the no-longer-beta action/RPG to version 1.003. The post is almost entirely
devoted to thanking the academy, so it's not clear what's changed, though there
is this enigmatic note: "And now, without further ado, and with great pleasure,
I present you Mount&Blade 1.003, the final release of our little indie game,
which I believe, we made happen all together..." The download is of the full
game, but unless it is unlocked, it serves as a trial version that caps your
progress to level 7. The download is available on
FileFront and Gamer's
Hell. In related news, the retail edition of Mount & Blade should now be
available in European stores.
The
Command & Conquer Support Forums have an update from APOC, where the C&C
Community Manager fills everyone in on support plans for Command & Conquer 3
and the Kane's Wrath expansion for the RTS sequel going forward. In what
sounds like a juggling act involving a limited set of resources he says they are
still getting their live team ( story) up to speed, but the Red
Alert 3 dev team is also contributing to their efforts. These include fixing
the Kane's Wrath Worldbuilder (this is being tested currently, and they hope for
a release "soon") and issuing a second Kane's Wrath patch maybe even before the
end of the Ladder season) with balance changes. He offers the following
overview: "We need to patch Kane's Wrath again before C&C 3. I know we had a
previous C&C 3 patch planned before KW 1.01, but C&C 3 has 9 patches, Kane's
Wrath has had one. I'd like to see Kane's Wrath patched again, and then look
back to C&C 3 for what a 10th patch should contain." Thanks Ant and
Command and Conquer DEN.
Kerberos On Sword Of The Stars on Rock, Paper, Shotgun discusses the

The talk about the motivations for continuing to expand Sword of the Stars,

and more.
A new Spider-Man: Web of Shadows trailer features the lovely Tricia Helfer
discussing her role as the voice of the Black Cat in the upcoming Spider-Man
game, interspersed with gameplay snippets of the Black Cat in action. The clip
is available on

FileFront, and
Gamer's Hell.
Well, Frans has continues to work on some stuff behind the scenes here,
engineering some helpful changes. The seemingly tireless Man (again, with a
capital "M") even continued to effort the problem of the few hundred forum posts
that were appearing out of order and repaired those. I've taken to wearing a hat
lately, just so I can occasionally tip it to him for his impressive
efforts. Meanwhile, with the dust settling from the server move, the new box
seems to crank along pretty nicely, offering significantly improved performance,
so things seem to be working out well in the long run.
