Archived News:
Game On has
more fuel for the Grand Theft Auto IV PC rumor fire, noting for a brief
time the Entertainment Software
Rating Board Website was showing a rating for the PC edition of GTA4 (thanks
Ant and
Digg).
The listing was subsequently removed, but it does inspire speculation over
whether this was an entirely erroneous listing, or just one that was premature.

A new version 2.5 of the Point of
Existence 2 modification for Battlefield 2 is now available (thanks
Ant and
Planet Battlefield). Word is: "We have been hard at work since last winter
creating new content, polishing old content and generally making a better game
for you to enjoy. We are pleased to announce that we feel that work has gotten
to a point where we can invite you to try it out. Our release comes in a patch
version for those already playing 2.1 We are also releasing a two part, 2.4
gigabyte full client version of the mod. In the past we have tried to package
the installer into a single massive download. We feel that a two download, two
installer version will allow us greater flexibility when dealing with the errors
associated with downloading large files. We hope you will agree."
The first non-beta public release of the
Offworld: Fall of Mars Battlefield 2 modification is now online,
offering the chance to get your ass to you-know-where and do some damage (thanks
Ant and
Planet Battlefield). Here's the skinny on this sci-fi mod from the website:
"The mod takes place around 200 years in the future when man has finally left
its cradle and set about colonizing Mars and mining the surrounding asteroids
for much needed resources. An ambitious effort to terraform Mars has failed for
unknown reasons. The resulting chaos forced the Mars based government to flee
back to Earth leaving the colonist leaderless and Mars in the hands of those
with enough power to maintain order. The struggle between mining corporations,
the remaining remnants of the colonial military and the engineers behind the
partial terraforming of the red planet is where we find ourselves."
Yesterday's story about the now near-daily TrackMania Nations Forever
and TrackMania United Forever patches failed to include a link (thanks
DudeBoyz). The version 2.11.15 patches are posted in in
this forum post.
Apologies for the error.
Man, it's getting hot again, but I have sausage and peppers to grill. On the
bright side, if it goes up a few more degrees, I may be able to cook everything
by just leaving it out in the sun.
