A new version of X Motor Racing is
now available, bringing this racing simulation to version 1.07. Adding
multiplayer support, an updated Corona track, and improved physics and graphics.
Owners of the full game can update the game online through the main menu. Those
interested in a test drive can download the updated playable demo, which can be
found on this page. If
you are interested in purchasing the full game, that can be accomplished
here, though they
suggest trying the demo first to ensure your system conforms to the game's
minimum requirements.
A pair of new Project Origin trailers are now available, showing of
Monolith's upcoming F.E.A.R. sequel. There's a new "Penthouse Gallery"
trailer (I just read it for the articles myself), available on

A new Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning video podcast offers a deeper

Battlefield Heroes Website has details on a security issue with their
partner running beta testing of Battlefield Heroes: Security Notice:
QA Boss has been made aware of a security breach which exposes QA Boss forum
user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. While passwords are
encrypted, it must be assumed that the encryption can be broken.
As a safety precaution, it is advisable that anyone who uses passwords on other
accounts, particularly email, which may be similar to the one used on the QA
Boss system, should consider changing their non QA Boss passwords. We also feel
that it may be prudent for users to change their QA Boss passwords. Instructions

Valve announces a big week for Team Fortress 2, as they will release a
new "Meet the Sniper" movie tomorrow and on Thursday they will launch the
promised update for the Pyro class in the multiplayer shooter, leading up to
another free play weekend, which kicks off on Friday: June 16, 2008 -
Valve, creators of award-winning games and leading technologies, today announced
a set of new releases for Team Fortress 2, the title named Multiplayer Game of
the Year by PC Gamer and Gamespy.com.
The main event of the week is the Pyro Update, which will be made available this
Thursday and contains three unlockable new weapons for the Pyro plus 35 new
achievements. In addition, two user-created maps are included to highlight the
great work being done in the community and distribute those works to all TF2
players..
Meanwhile as folks wait for the Pyro Update to be released, the latest in the
"Meet the Team" video shorts, "Meet the Sniper," will be made available tomorrow
(Tuesday, June 17) at 11 am PDT along with a web site dedicated to the Pyro
update.
Finally, to give everyone a chance to try the new weapons and community maps,
Valve will hold another Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend via Steam, a leading online
platform for the delivery and management of PC games. The Free Weekend is
scheduled to begin this Friday at 11 am PDT.

Paradox Interactive announces the release date for Penumbra: Requiem,
saying August 27 is when GamersGate
will offer the expansion for Frictional Games' horror game, Penumbra: Black
Plague: New York, USA (June 16, 2008) – Paradox Interactive today
announced the official release date for Penumbra: Requiem, expansion to the
critically acclaimed horror release Penumbra: Black Plague.
Penumbra: Requiem is scheduled for release on August 27, 2008. The game will be
available exclusively via digital download at GamersGate. The expansion has been
developed by Frictional Games and published by Paradox Interactive.
Requiem will tie up loose ends from previous installments and as Philip
progresses he will encounter various characters from his past. Penumbra: Requiem
delves deeper into the world of the Tuurngait infection and personalities from
the previous two games, Overture and Black Plague. Long lost friends will return
and aid Philip on his quest, but can they really be trusted?
In the bizarre world of Penumbra: Requiem players will experience another
psychological thrill on a level unheard of before Penumbra: Black Plague. This
time telling what is real and what is not will be even harder and not always
trusting your senses will be essential in order to survive.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. hamstrung by over-ambition on Eurogamer has comments from an
interview with GSC's Oleg Yavorsky about the lengthy development cycle of the
first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, where he admits that their inexperience and the
game's ambitious scope contributed to the six years they spent on the project.

misunderstood in US, offers Oleg's observation that lack of interest in a
Russian nuclear disaster may have harmed the game's take-up in North America and
Asia, and recalling another recent reference to European and North American
gamers finding different color pallets appealing, saying: "It seems that to
appeal to North America you need really flashy, bright games, and you can see
that every Eastern European game is very dark."
The newly-launched Rise of the
Argonauts Website offers a new CGI trailer from Rise of the Argonauts,
looking to Greece the way for Liquid Entertainment's upcoming action/RPG with
rendered footage created from in-game models.
A new "making of" trailer from Alone in the Dark offers part one of a
behind-the-scenes look at production on the imminent action/horror revival. The
clip features gameplay, developer narration as well as darkness and solitude.
The movie is posted on

Lighthouse Interactive offers a new trailer for Belief and Betrayal. Word
is: "The trailer highlights just some of the awe-inspiring situations players
will encounter in the mysterious and intriguing world of Belief & Betrayal. This
truly epic conspiracy Adventure game on PC DVD-ROM will begin hitting store
shelves across Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Benelux
territories later this month."
Running with Scissors announces the
Postal movie has won the
audience voting for Best in Festival award at the
Hoboken International
Film Festival, beating out The Noogies, In The Eyes of a Killer,
Predator’s Return, and The Pack (none of which shared Postal's good
sense of being a show sponsor). Uwe Boll also won as best director, beating out
the directors of some equally prominent blockbusters, as well as the director of
Flyboys (which we've heard of).
