Alone in the Dark tech demo movie on Joystiq shows off the proprietary
engine in the upcoming horror game, demonstrating how they are using unlimited
light sources as a gameplay element and how game items can be combined in
different ways for different uses (just as in real life, most of them involving
the use of duct tape).
The
Mysteries of Westgate Q&A on Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault seeks to clear up
some of the mysteries in the upcoming Neverwinter Nights 2 adventure pack by
talking with Alan Miranda, Luke Scull, and Kevin Smith of
Ossian Studios. They discuss the
classes of the companion characters, their AI, music, voice acting, community
support, and more.
It has been all over but the shouting for a while now, and
Toshiba
to exit HD DVD, end format war-NHK announces that shouting,
saying NHK reports that Toshiba is exiting the HD DVD scene, ceding the market
for disc-based high definition content to Sony's Blu-Ray. Word is the losses
Toshiba will suffer will amount to tens of billions of yen (hundreds of millions
of dollars), and that while Toshiba will continue selling existing hardware,
they will not be developing any new HD DVD new devices.
One comment my mention yesterday of
No Country for Old Men was about how
late we were in getting to see it, inspiring a joke about when we would see
There Will Be Blood, which, all kidding aside, was the other movie we
discussed seeing (but the timing worked out better for
No Country). The
trouble is the movies we want to see only show up in the theater we don't like
as much, so we end up seeing most things on satellite or DVD. I still would like to
get out to
There Will be Blood in the theaters, though.
