My swollen face did not prevent us from heading north to celebrate our niece's birthday with the family. A fine time was had by all, and our gift of an inflatable bouncing chamber seemed to be a hit with the kids as well as their parents, as a tired child is a good child. True to my oral surgeon's prediction, the swelling to my face, which peaked early yesterday, was already abating by last night, and by this morning the left side of my face only vaguely still resembles Richard Nixon's jowliness, which is a relief.
