- Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2
GRAW
2: PC Developer Tells All on IGN talks with producer Nouredine Abboud
and GRIN designer Lars Bonde about the PC edition of the tactical shooter
sequel: "GRAW 2 takes place over just 72 hours, with the missions following
on almost immediately after each other. The most important thing here is
that the rebels from GRAW are back and this time the action doesn't just
take place on the Mexican side, as the rebels get nearer to the US soil and
are threatening the US border. The whole story is about how the Ghosts are
forced to intervene and not only help the Government in Mexico, but also to
help and protect the people on their own soil."
- Star Wars Galaxies
RPG
Vault's Star Wars Galaxies Chapter 5 Q&A attempts to force Jake Neri to
answer questions about the next chapter in the Star Wars MMORPG: "Even if
the player isn't a trader or entertainer, they'll still be able to benefit
from these new abilities, as all the professions are interdependent.
Entertainers will now have a bunch of new buffs they can bestow on other
players, and traders will now be able to craft consumable items that enhance
armor and weapons. Chapter 5 will make traders and entertainers far more
viable in both combat and the game's economy."
- Shadowrun
The
Shadowrun Q&A on GameSpot talks with Mitch Gitelman about FASA's
shooter: "In most first-person shooters, bots can run, jump, fire their
weapon, throw a grenade, and run some more. In Shadowrun, our bots use all
the tech and magic that you can use. They glide over the battlefield,
teleport through walls, play offense and defense, pick up dropped
weapons--the works. In fact, playing with our bots is very educational. In
Tony Hawk skateboarding games, there are 'trick lines' that people discover
that allow them to go from trick to trick to trick in an unbroken line. Part
of the fun of the game is discovering those lines. Something similar exists
in Shadowrun."
- City of Heroes & Villains
The
City of Heroes &
Villains Issue 9 Q&A on Total Gaming chats up Matt Miller
about the next issue in Cryptic's MMORPG: "Well, first off we have the
Invention system, which adds a whole new dynamic to the game. Heroes and
Villains will collect salvage and recipes by defeating enemies. In keeping
with City of Heroes “casual friendly” game design, the collecting of these
items adds extra spice to the gameplay of defeating foes, rather than
becoming a hardcore task of “grinding,” “camping” or hours of “raiding.”
With this salvage, players can use the recipes to assemble an all new class
of Power Enhancements or costume pieces (depending on the recipe), which
they can then use. Unused recipes and salvage can be sold at the new
Consignment Houses (for Heroes) or the new Black Market (for Villains)."
- RF Online
WarCry
Network's RF Online Q&A chats with Kyle Rowley about Codemasters'
western adaptation of this MMORPG: "Since the game launched in February of
last year, we've seen gone through both highs and lows with the game - but
overall, Codemasters are more than pleased with RF Online's performance. We
always knew that the game would only really appeal to a niche market, so we
never expected to hit World of WarCraft numbers. By successfully launching
and operating RF Online, Codemasters Online Gaming have learnt a lot about
all the different aspects of MMO games operation - this ranges from
community interaction, server maintenance, developer relations and a host of
other key areas. Our service can only get better as we learn from our
mistakes on other products, so we have very high hopes for our future titles
- especially The Lord of the Rings Online."

From the sound of it, this time the dog and bunny are fomenting a revolution:
"The President of the United States has lost it. Federally mandated group hugs,
a pudding embargo... what's next, gun control? Sam & Max are off to Washington
to take care of this bozo, but the political climate will only get stormier...
and a new power will rise…"

- Wideload Games
Joystiq
interviews Wideload Games' Alex Seropian, discussing Hail to the Chimp,
their upcoming second title: "Hail to the Chimp, while it is very
family-friendly ... it's got animals in it. Of course the animals do beat
the crap out of each other, but it does have animals in it. It also has very
many different layers of humor in it from the pure physical comedy to raw,
political satire. Politics does play a part in our daily lies."
- The Lost Crown
The
Jonathan Boakes Q&A on Adventure Classic Gaming talks with the adventure
game designer about Dark Fall, Barrow Hill, and his latest project The Lost
Crown: "The puzzles, for the most part, are fully integrated into the world,
with logical solutions should they apply. Others are a little more surreal
and challenging. I have made efforts to use pretty much every screen to tell
the story or suggest a puzzle. I think there was too much tooing and froing
in Dark Fall II. Leg work is all very well, but it is right to expect some
reward. So, The Lost Crown (or TLC as I like to think of it) will be a
compact creature, with plenty to do, see and interact with. "
- Miner 2049er
Memories
of Miner 2049er on The Armchair Empire is a Q&A with Big Five Software’s
Bill Hogue looking back at this old school game: "I wanted to be able to
give away a single executable that would be able to play both games without
the additional steps of hunting around the internet for ROM or cartridge
images. And besides, at the time, I wasn't aware of any that played the
original Atari version of Bounty Bob Strikes Back due to the bank-selecting
built into the ROM. I really enjoyed the challenge of re-learning the
nuances of 6502 assembly language and the details of Atari's custom chips
Antic and Pokey!"
