Late on Christmas Eve,
Muzzy Lane
announced the release of an updated playable demo for Making History: The Calm &
The Storm, their "historically accurate" World War II strategy game. The updated
demo features the same scenario as the previous demo (
story) with
improvements like bug fixes and AI enhancements. Strangely, both of the two
stories announcing the release have since been removed from the site, but the
demo is mirrored on
3D
Gamers,
Gamer's Hell,
and
Worthplaying.
Update: This demo has been pulled due to a license key problem.
RuneSoft
announces plans for a Linux edition of Ankh: Heart of Osiris (thanks
Ant and
LinuxGames). Word is:
Runesoft will soon release a Linuxversion of
award winning 3D graphics adventure "ANKH". The game, which has been named
"German Game-of-the-Year 2005", was originally developed by Deck 13 and
published by bhv for the PC. The Linuxversion is currently in final testing
stages and could be in retail-stores across Europe before the end of the year.
In "ANKH" the player can do his/her utmost to help young Assil get rid of a
curse that has been cast upon him. The Player can expect classical adventure
elements, enveloped in a magical 3D world with state-of-the-art graphics that
really take your socks off: there are new details to discover throughout the
game, all of which have been endearingly developed and animated.

EA's Madden NFL 07
Heads Into the Playoffs as the Best-Selling Game of 2006 (thanks
Frans) has
word that with over 5 million units sold across ten different platforms, "EA
believes, based on its own internal data as well as industry sources, that
across all game platforms, Madden NFL 07 will finish as North America's most
popular game of 2006."
Happy Boxing Day, St. Stephen's Day, and Kwanzaa!
Had a fine old time with the family yesterday, and another wet Christmas, which
has become the norm around here. Here's hoping Santa was good to you, and
everyone has returned from their travels safe and sound.
