This Summer, You Are
the Shark as Majesco Entertainment Ships 'Jaws Unleashed' is the press
release announcing that we're going to need a bigger boat, as the game where you
get to be the shark is now in stores: Amity Island is growing, making
corporate connections with prestigious companies like Environplus to improve the
Island's economy. Unfortunately the increased population around the Island and
recent industrial activity has also attracted one of Earth's most fearsome
creatures -- YOU, a Great White Shark.
JAWS Unleashed delivers a free-roaming experience in an underwater environment
teaming with life. As JAWS, players will connect with the primal instinct to
continually feed or risk starvation. JAWS can perform a variety of underwater,
surface and air attacks to terrorize the island community and destroy everything
in its path. In addition, gamers can enjoy the thrill of the hunt to the
instantly recognizable John Williams score from the original film.
The Hero's Journey FAQ (thanks
Frans) has word that Simultronics' upcoming MMORPG's journey towards release

"It is slated for a 2007 release. However, play testing will ultimately
determine when HJ is ready to go."

- Arena: Warriors
The
Arena: Warriors Q&A on Strategy Informer talks with Iain McNeil of
Slitherine about their upcoming RTS/RPG: "The single player campaign is much
like a standard RPG. There is an overlying story that carries through the
entire game and lots of self contained smaller stories along the way that
make up the smaller missions. Players will travel around the world meeting
characters, making choices about missions, completing them and receiving
rewards. What sets Arena : Warriors apart from other RPG's is that instead
of managing a party of 1-6 characters you're in command of an army of
hundreds of men so when there is a fight, it's a real battle!"

Hey, the Knicks got
the second pick in the draft! Except, of course, they traded that pick for a
stiff with a heart condition. Right now I'd trade Isaiah Thomas for a bag of
practice balls.

The
Dark World Online Q&A on FiringSquad talks with Tulga's David Bowman
about their upcoming MMORPG: "It is set in the very near future at a time
when the Slayers (the chosen, trained protectors of humanity) are battling
to preserve their fellow humans from the Weres (werewolves and changelings
that devour humans and desire the destruction of human social structure).
The Vampire culture prefers the preservation of humans as a foodsource and
human social structure as a way of controlling humanity. We'll be releasing
the individual stories of each culture in detail as part of the buildup
toward completion, but we are too far from that time to discuss more."

Dog
bowl designed to keep dogs from eating too fast (thanks Ant). A good idea,
but I'm not convinced… Gunnar eats two meals a day that are each over a pound of meat in probably
about two minutes all told, and it looks like the only way that bowl would slow
him down is the time it would take to eat the plastic nubs.
