We were in the city for a small dinner party at PapaBlue's last night when
someone noticed there was a naked guy in an apartment across the street. Now I
have to admit to having been a past resident of more than one Manhattan
apartment without shades on the windows… it's fairly common to presume no one
cares enough to be looking in. Whether that's true in general or not, this guy
was certainly noticeable, and much to our voyeuristic amusement at one point he
began cleaning the place, still in the nude, with a swiffer. We had a good laugh
at this and went on with our dinner. After dinner someone commented that naked
guy seemed to be gone, and then we realized he had just retired to the bedroom,
and let's just say that he was continuing to curry favor with the lady of the
house, even though his swiffer was no longer in evidence. Polite as we all are,
we immediately turned away, and by immediately I mean about 15 minutes later
after the dust had settled, so to speak. It was all very strange, between the
lights being on in both rooms where all this action was taking place, to how the
guy was performing his assorted tasks without any evidence of reciprocation: Our
general conclusion was that these may have been paid services being provided,
like a combo housekeeper/gigolo situation.
