A new Diary on
Bungie.net
(thanks
Frans and
HBO) offers flashbacks to the announcement of Halo for the Xbox as Bungie
responds to reactions to news that Halo 2 PC will be exclusively for Windows
Vista. The update touts the OS's advertised advantages (so that warm liquid
running down your neck right now is rain) and goes on to discuss how the game
will differ on the PC in the areas of customization and matchmaking. Also, a new
Prey
Weekly Development Update #5 on the 3D Realms Website offers the latest in
their weekly series on the upcoming shooter sequel, discussing portal puzzles,
combat tweaking, AI, and more, going on to invite questions readers might have
about the game.
Some feedback on the story last night about Half-Life 2: Episode One suggests it
was a misinterpretation of the story. In contrast with the assessment that
Half-Life 2: Aftermath was being broken into episodes, there is a general
feeling that this is really just a names change from Aftermath to Episode One.
A new
TimeShift Website is online
as the
Flash home to the upcoming 4D shooter. The site offers info and images
from the game, protected by an age-gate where minors can practice their
timeshifting skills. Also, a new
Blazing Angels Product
Section is online (thanks
Frans) as a home to the just-announced PC edition
of Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII. Included are the
first seven
screenshots from the PC edition of the aerial combat game. Finally,
the German Emergency 4 Website is up as
a
Flash home to the upcoming crisis management sequel. The full versions of
the included screenshots are broken, but they can be found on
3D Gamers.
A new Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy movie shows off more of Mad Doc
Software's upcoming expansion to the historical RTS sequel in a continuation of
the 'behind the scenes' series. The clip offering gameplay and interview footage
is available on
3D

Red Planet Arena now offers downloads
of the new Alien Arena 2006: Gold Edition as a full installer or as a patch for
previous versions. Word is: "The number of improvements are staggering. Now with
32 levels, alt-fires for every weapon, much more extensive use of shaders,
increased visibility, improvements and optimizations that increase speed,
AA2K6GE is clearly the leader in freeware deathmatch games!"
Batten down the hatches, word is there's an actual storm on the way.
