Evening Q&As

  • Supreme Commander
The Supreme Commander Q&A on Supreme Commander HQ talks with Chris Taylor, the supreme commander at Gas Powered Games, about their upcoming RTS game: "One of the biggest challenges has been finding a way to create three different factions that are all different in one way, but similar in others… i.e. each faction needs a well-balanced force that covers land, sea and air, but can’t all have the same look to their tanks. When we get up to the huge experimental units this is easy because these units are way over-the-top, and have crazy weapons and create massive amounts of destruction."
  • Heather Graham
OGaming's Heather Graham Q&A talks with the lovely actress about her voice work in EverQuest II: "Yeah. I just don’t find fighting off or attacking a bunch of little computer people that exciting. There’s something more inspiring about getting to interact with hundreds of different real people from around the world. It takes more creativity and imagination, and forces you to think more on your feet. It’s almost more mentally stimulating in that regard."

World Racing 2 Patch

A new World Racing 2 Patch is now available, updating Synetic's motorsports simulation to version 1.3.3. The update adds a new cheat code, some new options, and addresses some bugs. Thanks The Patches Scrolls.

Into the Black

Well it was indeed quite the autumn snowstorm around here... I put in close to two hours with the shovel when it was all said and done. This included some help for my Good Samaritan neighbor, which helped assuage my guilt over his previous assistance with snow clearing on two levels. First, is simply that I got to help him in return by digging out his driveway, but second was in learning he has a snow blower, so his previous help was not the strain I imagined. The idea was that he could snow-blow both our walks if I helped get the driveway clear, but by the time he was done rearranging his various vehicles, I had my work completed.

The main character Yuen is the only survivor of the N.B.H. (New Breed Human) experiments conducted by the government. Playing the role of Yuen, you find yourself waking up in the middle of an alien invasion. Not knowing what has happened, you become informed by the people who find you, then set out to accomplish your different missions, find out why you were created and stop further invasion of the unknown alien race. Throughout the game, you team up with groups of human survivors, some of which can aid or betray you."

Out of the Blue

Man.. we're buried already, and it's still coming down!

I've been playing some BF2 again with the new Sneaky F#$@ expansion pack, which reminds me of a question I've never been able to answer... what's the criteria for tie-breaking for the medals at the end of the game? I was tied for second in a match and got a bronze medal, which, as far as I can tell, has happened to me every time... If I'm tied for first I get a silver, and if I'm tied for third I get nothing. Never once do I recall getting the "benefit of the doubt" and receiving the higher of the two medals for which I've qualified. I don't know if it's based on username, or what, but whatever the criteria is, it seems like it always works against me.
