The
Project Offset Website (thanks
Frans) is now online, home to an upcoming first-person shooter from Sam McGrath,
formerly of S2 Games (Savage). The site offers screenshots and a technology
movie from the game. Here's how the game is described:
"Project Offset"
is a game like no other first person shooter to date. We wanted to make an FPS
set in a epic fantasy world. A game where you can choose one of many character
classes. A game where clans can combat over mission based objectives and be
ranked accordingly. A game where you can play alone, coop, team based objective
or deathmatch.
The controls feel exactly how an FPS player would expect. Play as an archer and
your skill using the bow and leading your target is what will set you apart.
When the battles get close up, pull out your sword and continue the fight melee.
For players who like vehicle combat, we won't disappoint. Project Offset will
have creatures you can ride, dragons you can fly, siege weapons you can man --
all part of an epic battle between you and your foes.
Project Offset is built around a next gen engine, where every model is created
with the amount of detail and effort normally found only in a cinematic, making
you feel like you are part of an epic story.
A
Glider: Collect 'n Kill Website is
now online (thanks
YiYas), unveiling this
upcoming aerial combat action game in the works at
REVOgames. The site offers English and
German language homes to the project, featuring screenshots and a gameplay
trailer, which shows off sci-fi combat somewhat reminiscent of the Descent
series (there's another, older trailer on the
REVOgames
Website as well, thanks
Frans). Here's a bit of their description of the
game, which at this time does not have a publisher:
Glider – a high speed
flight shooter with addiction potential!
You find yourself in a glorious future and you are a proud pilot of the Official
Glider League. Hold your own in hard fights, you have never seen like this
before – chases, ‘circuit fights’, and XXL battles with up to 8 players. Your
way to to the top leads you through sewerage shafts and a big temple area from
ancient times.
The great agility, the exceptional game concept and the high speed create a
unique athmosphere. So fasten your seatbelt, lift off and become the NUMBER
ONE!

Fallen
Lords: Condemnation Website heralds development of a third-person fighting
game that's been in the works at Spanish developer Novarama for quite some time
now, although news of it has fallen like a lord through the cracks here up until
now (thanks
Frans for the heads-up). The site offers a bunch of screenshots, and
an
introduction to the game's setting in the afterlife, and there are more
shots and two year's worth of E3 movies on
3D Gamers. Here's
word:
Fallen Lords: Condemnation takes you beyond your own death. Declare
your life, and be assigned the campaign you must follow. If you choose the Light
as an Angel, you will experience the struggle of the Armies of Heaven, as you
progress from a simple infantry soldier to finally become one of the chosen, the
Champion of Angels. Lead the charges of the Cavalry of Virtue, unleash the power
of mythical weapons like the Sword of Truth, as you battle to bring light to the
world and slay the enemies of Justice. Often outnumbered, but never reluctant,
the armies of angels advance like a raging wind, sweeping shadows from the
darkest corners of the Afterworld, until nothing but light covers the barren
landscape.
Choose the Dark Side, and become a minion of evil, learning to use all means to
expand a reign of chaos and malice to the Afterworld. Slay angels and subjugate
the souls of dead men so they all kneel for you, and become slaves of the Lord
of Darkness. Advance the story-based levels to gain control over more powerful
machines of war, be able to lead a larger army. Capture angels and convert them
to the Dark, corrupt the soul of men so they fight on your side. When you have
assembled all the Forces of Darkness you will finally confront the enemy and, on
plains of blood, defeat them and reign supreme over a world of chaos.
If you believe neither light nor darkness will ever bring the war to an end, why
not join the Souls of Purgatory, the army of men dead long ago, who fight for
their freedom and a Kingdom of Men beyond the shores of death? Command the
mythical creatures of the Afterworld to battle, defeat Angels and Devils, and
become the Fallen Lord, ruler of the Afterworld. Dead men will join your march
to battle, on foot, riding huge beasts of war, and using weapons the world has
never seen. The army of men faces mighty enemies, but its will and courage know
no equal.

Big Mutha Truckers 2:
Truck Me Harder Website is online, home to the upcoming racy trucking game.
There's information and such, but none of the trucking screenshots offered are
new. Thanks
Frans.
The Irrational Games Website now
features new job openings they are looking to fill for their offices in both
Boston and Canberra (thanks
Frans). Also, the
Double Fine Jobs Page outlines
job vacancies at their San Francisco offices for a Senior Producer and a Senior
Technical Artist.
Great play time today... it so reminds me of classic simple arcade games that
could continue to entice quarters out of my pocket by the maddening suggestion
that just a slight variation in gameplay could allow me to play forever.
