Evening Q&As

  • LucasArts
GameShark's LucasArts E3 Q&A talks with Peter Hirschmann about game plans at Lucas: "I think Tim Schafer is a smart, dynamic individual and Grim Fandango is a classic with a comic style, and if someone came up with an idea we might do it, but my feeling are that some things are best left as they are."
  • Spore
Gaming Steve's Episode 13 features a podcast interview talking with Will Wright about Spore, the upcoming everything sim. The Will Wright portion is accompanied by a text transcript: "And also actually how you play them … you're kind of programming how social they are, you can develop very social behavior in which case they'll start living in herds, and they'll all protect each other. So ummm … [looks back at octopus] you can put feet on this ..."
  • FSW Ten Hammers
Ten Times the Excitement in Full Spectrum Warrior Ten Hammers on GameZone is a Q&A with lead programmer Alexander Boczar about Pandemic's upcoming tactical action sequel: "I would also like to mention that one of the best enhancements in the game is the addition of diverse multiplayer. We have different fractions competing in different types of battles. The one were demonstrating here [at the show] is a combination of deathmatch, but also objective-based where we have objectives that determine your success."
  • The Witcher
The Witcher Q&A Part Two on GameBanshee concludes their conversation with CD Projekt about their upcoming RPG: "You should not expect a clear division between ‘good’ and ‘evil’ in The Witcher. In other words, the possible ways to completing many quests base rather on personal choices and alliances of powers. It is of course up to the players, whether they chose to take sides, decide what’s right or wrong, or simply despise what and whom they wish. Nonetheless, no choice will ever be a question of ‘good’ and ‘evil’… ‘light’ and ‘darkness’."
  • ToCA Race Driver 3
The ToCA Race Driver 3 Q&A on Eurogamer discusses Codemasters' upcoming racing game with Gavin Raeburn: "The TOCA series has always done this to some extent, but TOCA Race Driver 3 will take this to its natural conclusion - we have two main modes that cater to two different player types. Trying to strike a balance with just one main mode has always been difficult, especially as console and PC gamers have different views on what constitutes a race sim or more casual racing experience. What we want to do with TOCA Race Driver 3 is to provide an accessible sim that everyone can enjoy, but with enough depth to keep the more hardcore sim fan happy."
