Kindred Blades Preview on 1UP seems to reveal Prince of Persia: Kindred
Blades as the heretofore unrevealed title of Prince of Persia 3, the upcoming
installment in the action adventure series. There is no artwork or official
announcement to support this, but the title is used matter-of-factly throughout
the article, which offers first-hand impressions and quotes from the developers
at Ubisoft about the project.

- Bet on Soldier
RPG
Vault's Bet on Soldier Betting Q&A talks with Kylotonn's Roman Vincent
about their upcoming first-person shooter: "The idea of soldiers betting on
themselves came from our previous game, Ironstorm, where the soldiers were
valued on the stock exchange. So, we took that idea and we pushed it further
by creating a complete, uchronic [outside normal time - Ed.] universe, where
corporations have turned the war into the major form of entertainment to
make more profit. They created the Bet on Soldier, which is a live broadcast
TV program, and betting is at the center of the show. The best soldiers
fight to the death for a great amount of money; this is where they make
their livelihood."
- America's Army
America's Army polishes up its act
on GameSpot talks with Colonel Casey Wardynski about the future of the
Army's shooter: "When Overmatch launches in September, the Striker will have
19 zones of damage, the Hummer will have 19 zones of damage. It can roll
over. You can get caught underneath it. It'll be a fully functional
vehicle--all that kind of stuff which normally you'd never see in a
commercial game, because it's way too expensive. We did all that because the
government needs that, and now the government owns it so it can flow it
right back into the public game."

does on car tuning and setup. Whether it´s endurance races on the two-mile 'KW
Superspeedway', a fast round in the 'Recaro Raceway Park' or the 'Motec Mile' at
night with bright headlights and enthusiastic spectators thrilling duels and
daring overtaking maneuvers are guaranteed. The behavior of the virtual
opponents is adapted to the respective characteristics of the tracks. This
guarantees an exciting fight with a gigantic starter field and powerful touring
cars."
The Armed

detail. Players with lower end machines will be able to set their detail level
on medium or low for improved performance. The AI adjustment scales the
difficulty levels better, with easy slightly easier, normal mode relatively the
same, and hard mode somewhat more difficult."
Games Market Europe is a "major new trade showcase for the European computer and
video games industry." The event "will take place on August 31st and September
1st 2005 at London's Business Design Centre. The event will herald a new era for
the European games industry, as it welcomes one event that will unify the
continent and the business. The event is a collaboration between Barrington
Harvey and Tandem Events, a new venture being headed up by Andy Lane, who held
the position of event director of ECTS over the last 10 years."
So it seems today is the launch of some movie or other... sort of a cruel trick
by Lucas on the geek community to launch Episode III during E3. Of course a lot
of folks are down on this flick after the previous two, but it's been getting
surprisingly good reviews. As I mentioned myself when I saw the last one, that
for all its flaws ("I hate sand, its rough and gets everywhere. Not like you,
you're soft and smooth."), I am looking forward to this one more than I have any
of the series since Return of the Jedi (guess I'm dating myself). I read the
perfect analysis of why I am anticipating the movie... it's like a jigsaw
puzzle: all the more fun because you know how it's supposed to look when it
turns out.
