Sunday Q&As

  • Battlefield 2
Questions and answers about Battlefield 2 on Boomtown gets some brief answers to questions from DICE about their upcoming military shooter sequel: "We follow the same philosophy in Battlefield 2 as our previous BF games, almost all vehicles (exception of some airplanes) are all multi-position vehicles. If you’re referring to the AC-130 gunship, we won’t have that in BF2 when it ships."
  • The Day After
The Day After Q&A on Strategy Informer talks with Alexander Valencia-Campo, designer on The Day After, G5 Software's upcoming RTS game set in the aftermath of a hypothetical third world war: "First of all, it was the most serious conflict between USSR and USA in the 20th century and to show its alternative development seemed to be very exciting. The second reason is its year - 1962 - the peak of arms race and as a result a heyday of military technology. Since WWII there appeared new kinds of weapons and taking into consideration that most of strategy games are about WWII, the new set of units, is a great advantage of The Day After. These reasons were the major ones in choosing this setting."

Out of the Blue

Happy spring! Today marks the vernal equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere, so spring has sprung. I'd go out and run around outside and maybe fly a kite or something to celebrate, but it's pretty rainy out there today. Of course, that's good news at this point too... it's been going out there since early this morning with nary a flake to be seen. Weee!

When I called the dogs in from the yard after their early constitutional this morning, Hudson the wonder dog uncharacteristically did not respond. I had to put on a coat and shoes and seek her out, and when I found her, she was in the front corner of our yard with her nose buried in a half-gallon Breyer's ice cream container! I can only imagine that my wacky animal loving neighbor hung it from the tree between our yards for some critters to get into, but whatever the source, there she was in doggie heaven. Now this is the exact same spot where a squirrel she and Gunnar had treed fell right into her waiting jaws a couple of weeks ago. Getting to live a couple of doggie dreams come true in the same spot almost makes it seem like she found a genie in a bottle and has gotten her first two wishes already... I ought to look around that spot and wish for something good before I find her out there one day chewing on a dinosaur bone or living in a duplex doghouse or something like that.
