Archived News:
The Frogwares Website (thanks Frans) has
(misdated, as it was posted yesterday) word on plans for an as-yet-untitled
third installment in their series of Sherlock Holmes mystery games, following up
on The Mystery of the Mummy and The Silver Earring. Word is: "Great news for all
adventure game fans - Frogwares started work on third part of adventures of the
greatest detective of all times, Sherlock Holmes. Incredible graphic, gripping
story and unexpected ending. Come back soon to see screenshots."
The Wish Beta 2
Application is where to sign up between now and December 31 to be a tester
for Mutable Realms' upcoming MMORPG. Word is, simply: "Wish Beta 2 will start on
January 1, 2005. Once you signed up, we will notify you by email when the Wish
beta client is available for download and the test starts." In point of fact,
the client is actually already available on
FilePlanet
(registration required).
The Live for Speed Website now
features a new movie showing off Live for Speed S2, the next version of this
realistic racing simulator. The 30 MB movie is accompanied by a series of
new screenshots.
Thanks Frans.
The Zoo Empire Website now
features a new patch for Zoo Empire, updating the theme park simulator to
version 1.22. The update further refines the game's algorithms to keep animals
from starving to death, as this tends to upset the guests, not to mention the
animals. Thanks Frans.
An alpha version of the
Classic Doom for Doom 3 modification is now available (thanks
Doomworld
and Ant), bringing gameplay aspects of the original DOOM to its recent remake.
There are warning that as an alpha release, this mod is incomplete, and that
gameplay issues are bound to pop up.
The ETF Website has a new gameplay movie
from this Enemy Territory version of Q3F, along with January 15 as a release
date for the project.

Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating, Happy Christmas to those in the
U.K., and of course, Happy Xmas to those who enjoy strange abbreviations.
We brought home our own little holiday cheer yesterday, Gunnar the poodle (I was
informed by MrsBlue that I had first-person shootered the spelling of his name,
though we are pronouncing it Gunner). Gunnar is a bit of a prodigy... we were
told he'd be paper trained, but he had a pair of accidents upon arriving at home
that were nowhere near the paper. When he again started making the same whine
he offered before each accident, I realized he was actually signaling to go out.
Several successful trips outside later, we can confirm that at 7+ weeks old, he
has toilet trained himself... he had only gone on the paper indoors at the
breeders, but upon arrival in his new home, he decided he needed to go out to
take care of business, and that's what he does. Buggy (not that I'm complaining
mind you). Anyway, he's a great little guy, and in response to demand (I won't
claim it was popular), here are
a couple of Gunnar photos.
