rather than on December 1 as had been planned. Beta 2 is planned to run for a
month. Here's word: "There are no specific problems that can be singled out as
the reason for the delay. The core architecture of Wish is sound and stable. It
is simply the sheer number of small issues that still need modification or
testing that calls for this unfortunate delay."

Strain and Cynn Q&A on Nudist Talk chats about ArenaNet's upcoming

The
S.C.O.U.R.G.E. Q&A on
RPG Codex talks with Gabor Torok, developer of S.C.O.U.R.G.E., an indie
RPG: "The goals of making the game is to create an off-beat, interesting,
dungeon crawler that may eventually become a full-blown rpg (with non-random
outside areas.) I found that my projects were often bogged down in details,
so I focused on a feature set that enables fast development while skipping
over (for now) areas that may take a long time to complete. A lot of the
features commonly associated with roguelikes work for my advantage. For
example, using random dungeons instead of having to write a "dungeon editor"
or using md2 (quake) models instead of creating custom animations saved me a
lot of time."

A Q&A with LucasArts President Jim Ward on Yahoo! News (thanks Frans and
Voodoo
Extreme) reveals plans for a previously unannounced Star Wars RTS game in
the works at Petroglyph, a developer composed of ex-Westwood employees:
As a result, we will have new live-action and animated TV shows over the
next few years, and I think there's a bright future there for games based on
these new properties as well as original "Star Wars" games like a new real-time
strategy PC game that Petroglyph is developing for next year. This game will
take the (real-time strategy) genre in a new direction and will balance gameplay
between the hard-core gamers who buy these games and the broader audience that's
familiar with the "Star Wars" brand.

Fed's Mythic Blades Q&A verbally fences with Eric Peterson of publisher
Cartel Games about Mythic Blades, the upcoming PC fighting game in the works
at Mexican developer Vermillion Entertainment: "In Mythic Blades, Ares wants
to rule the Olympus so he challenges his father to a battle. Zeus doesn't
agree and is then forced to by having half of the gods of Olympus backing up
Ares. As in the Iliad, the gods' problems are represented by mortal men, and
so, the fight between the gods is not fought between them but by humans and
monsters, led by Ares and Zeus. The Mythic Blades are then forged for the
combatants."

I must admit that we had an unusual actual Autumn season around these parts this
year. That seems to be coming to a close however, as the cold has set in in a
big way... we have gotten our first frost, and I'm betting the first snow will
follow... time to tune up the sled.
