The
Arena Wars
Community Site now offers downloads of a patch for Arena Wars, updating
exDream's RTS game to beta version 1.2 (thanks
Frans). The update offers a
variety of fixes and new features, with the primary new element being the
introduction of client server gameplay, with the goal of eliminating multiplayer
problems with peer-to-peer gameplay.
Board.oblivion-lost.com has a new STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl diary,
offering a translation of the second part of a
journal originally
published in Russian, talking about the game's A.I. and their efforts at
creating a life simulation system.
Turned out that MrsBlue's laptop was savable, a bit of time with tech support
uncovered a corrupted driver that put everything right once it was reinstalled.
Of course, now addicted to the thrill of the morning hardware adventure, I
messed around with the RAM in my work machine this morning, and the box, which
was in a touchy state to start with, ended up not wanting to boot properly after
my tinkering. This lead to an acceleration of the existing plan to segue my work
onto a different machine (which I am using now). That all went surprisingly well
for a spontaneous project, though it is fairly mind-boggling how long Outlook
can take to import messages when you have a mind-boggling number of them in
your old mailer.
