The Epic of Dirk the
Daring Continues in the All New-Adventure Release "Dragon’s Lair 3" is the
press release announcing the next installment in the adventures of Dirk the
knight that began way back when with a laserdisc coin-op arcade game. A
product page for
the game is already online,
offering up
several screenshots, as well as
a playable demo on
the downloads page of the framed
Digital Leisure Website. The demo is a 32 MB download, mirrored on
3D Gamers,
FileFront, Gamer's Hell, and
Worthplaying.
The Episode III The Video Game Website
now offers downloads of the promised gameplay trailer from the just-announced
game tie-in with the upcoming film culmination of the current Star Wars trilogy
(making this a movie game movie). There are high and low resolution streaming
versions of the clip, as well as downloads of the low-rez version.
The Star Wars
Republic Commando Website has a slight revision to the listed release date
for the upcoming Star Wars shooter, as the listing the formerly read February
2005 now reads March 1, 2005, so this technically represents a one-day delay if
you want to quibble (and you know you want to). Thanks Frans.
MM Hell has an advance
bit from a Q&A with Mythic's Matt Firor that will be published next week. The
excerpt states that they are gearing up to launch the open beta for Dark Age of
Camelot in the next few days. They also point out that in this case "open"
testing of the MMORPG expansion will require being a subscriber to the original
game, and possibly also already having the previous expansions installed.
The Close Combat: First to Fight
Diary Vol #3 on GameSpy describes the participation of actual U.S. Marines
in the design of Destineer's upcoming shooter based on their exploits. Also, the

features the latest developer update on World Fusion's upcoming MMORPG, covering

In a story about
FUEL yesterday, the upcoming racing game was incorrectly labeled as an MMOG (my
wishful thinking showing through) before the mistake was noticed and corrected.

GarageGames announces the release of the BraveTree Character Pack for the
Torque Engine in 3dsMax (version 5), Maya, and MiLkShApE formats.
I spent a good deal of time this morning trying to help MrsBlue with
her laptop, which decided it did not see the wireless network anymore. After
considerable aggravation, the best I was able to do was get her online with an
external wireless adaptor, I think the internal one may have mysteriously died.
Certainly not a good way to start your day, much less your weekend.
