Website has news that the Altarian Prophecy expansion for Stardock's
Galactic Civilizations is now gold (thanks Frans). Here's word on availability
of the add-on: "Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy, will be released on
June 15, 2004 and can be purchased on CD or via electronic download. A retail
version of the game should be available later this summer along with a bundle of
the original game and the expansion pack to be titled 'Galactic Civilizations
Gold'."
The promised ( story) demo version of Besieger is now available,
providing a sample of Primal Software's RTS game of construction and siege. The
264 MB demo can be found on 3D
Gamers,
ActionTrip,
Computer Games Online, FileFront,
Gamer's Hell,
The Adrenaline Vault, and

The 14-day trial version of Star Wars Galaxies on

download is a staggering 1,916 MB.
This Buka Entertainment
Downloads Page features links to new version 1.10 patches for the UK and US
editions of Echelon: Wind Warriors. Unfortunately, the page is a bit wonky, with
the links to the unzipped patches not actually working at this time. This is all
cleared up on 3D Gamers,
where the patches are zipped down to save your bandwidth, these versions are
mirrored on The
Adrenaline Vault and FileFront ( US
and UK).
A beta demo for Spider-Man 2 is now available, offering the chance to sample the
game based on this summer's sequel to the film featuring the famed wall crawler.
The demo, apparently released as a
promotion for a Russian soft drink, is a 197 MB download, available on
Computer Games Online,
Filerush (torrent),
Gamer's Hell,
and Loadedinc. There's
also a version that's 32 MB smaller thanks to the removal of a DirectX installer
on 3D Gamers, which
has been mirrored on
ActionTrip,
Boomtown (registration required), FileFront,
The Adrenaline Vault,
and
Worthplaying.

Thanks to Seth Torkko for also sending along

straightforward approach was not actually working, but I presumed that was
pretty obvious.
