Encore Ships PC version of Midway’s The Suffering (thanks GameGossip) announces availability of the PC port of Surreal's horror game: "The Suffering combines a chilling storyline with third person action and adventure to create one of the most frightening and horrifying experiences available on the PC. Players assume the role of Torque, a man convicted of a horrible crime that he may or may not have committed. Dear Diaries

The latest Dungeon Siege II Developer's Diary is online (thanks Frans), offering thoughts on the upcoming action/RPG sequel from online producer Jeremy Snook, stepping back for a bit of a purposely delayed overview: "We started off with designer dev diaries at launch rather than this introductory post because we wanted you to have something juicy and exciting to dig into right away." Also, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Designer Diary #7 on GameSpot is penned by GSC Game World project leader Anton Bolshakov on the topic of "Deathmatch for the Next Generation."

Gamer Charity

"Gamer's Pulse, in cooperation with the Children's Wish Foundation today launch a nation wide charity event entitled, "Gamers Grant Wishes in 2004." This charity event is designed to create awarness [sic] for the excellent charitable institution first established by Linda Dozoretz to aid and enhance the lives of terminally diagnosed children and to provide the resources needed to enhance their lives.

Gamers, producers, distributors, manufacturers, and private individuals are encouraged to send in new, used, or surplus computer and video games, strategy guides, controllers, systems, board games and more to enrich the lives of children who are seriously ill. Now more than ever these gifts can become a valuable tool to children in need, as most people think more about charities during winter and holiday times rather during summer months."

Out of the Blue

Things are going quite well minding the youngsters... we had a cookout last night where a couple of experiments came off nicely (mussels, which the kids will eat, but I will not myself, and proscuitto-wrapped asparagus). After a pancake breakfast today, MrsBlue has occupied them with some roller skating while I worked, and soon we'll head off to the Bronx Zoo to say hi to some critters. 20 hours, and no meltdowns! So far so good!! =]
