Thanks to all who offered suggestions on my video card crashing yesterday.
Thanks zaq for the advice to try scaling back to 4X AGP, which has cleared up
the problem. Sometime today I will also try the fix found on: Call
of Duty system hangs or VPU recover error messages playing game, an ATI
troubleshooting page, sent along by Jody, as it was CoD that I was using for a
good amount of this troubleshooting, so that may supply a fix that's less of a
work-around.
Huzzah and kudos once again to Frans for getting the forums and other scripted
elements updated yesterday. There should be very few remaining areas of the site
with the old format remaining at this point. The issue of how the font sizes
scale as you bump them up in your browser's settings still remains to be
addressed, but the dust from this whole project is otherwise pretty well
settling.
