Civilization IV?

Apolyton CS has a story up based on a Firaxis Q&A on GameDaily that offers evidence that Civilization IV is in the works, though another follow-up to this successful franchise is a pretty obvious move. The quote on Civ IV comes from Firaxis president/CEO Jeff Briggs, though nothing beyond the project's existence is revealed.

New Frozen Throne Map

The Warcraft III Bonus Maps Page now offers downloads of Emerald Gardens, a new bonus map for WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne (thanks Frans). Here's the lowdown: "Lush greenery has almost succeeded in cloaking the ruins of a city whose name has passed into memory. Pay heed to its mute testimony: peace is fragile where resources are in demand."

Universal Combat Movie

A new Universal Combat movie is now available, showing off the action in the upcoming space combat game formerly known as Battlecruiser Generations. The trailer is available in two resolutions, a 72 MB download and a smaller 48 MB version. Both files can be found on 3D Gamers and the larger one is mirrored on Gamer's Hell.

PlanetSide Free Trial

A free trial of PlanetSide is now available for download from GameSpot's Download Express. The download is free, and does not even require GameSpot's usual free registration, though a credit card will need to be on file, though this will only be billed for players who continue to play past the 30 day trial period.

A new version 2.0 of the International Crime Syndicate multiplayer modification for Soldier of Fortune II. There is a note accompanying the downloads with a suggested setting for server operators to work around a bug in this release.
