New Doomsday

Doomsday HQ (thanks Frans) has the release of a new version 1.7.14 of Doomsday, the updated version of the DOOM/Hexen/Heretic source code(s). Among other things, this release offers the program's first-ever support for the four-level Hexen demo.

Tech Bits

Thanks Mike Martinez.

Competitions

Enemy Down has announced that they have launched new Halo ladders to accompany the ladders they are already running Counter-Strike and day of Defeat ladders.

Game Development & Mods

The Radiant Website now offers a new version 1.3.12 of the GtkRadiant level editing program. The new release features Jedi Academy support, and has now been split into two separate programs, one for Raven titles, and one for all others. Also, Sims Zone has word (in German) to expect modification tools for the Sims 2, specifically a "Create-a-Sims" tool to be release in November, preceding the game itself. A Babel Fish translation can help work through this for non-German speakers.
