Freedom Fighters Gold

EA Games sends word that Freedom Fighters is the latest title to join today's flurry of gold announcements. Here's the short press release:

The squad-based action war game Freedom Fighters has gone gold and will start to ship on Tuesday, September 23 for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, Xbox video game system from Microsoft, the Nintendo GameCube, and PC.

Freedom Fighters is based on an alternate history in which the Soviet Union has won the Cold War and invaded America. You will take on the role of average New Yorker, Christopher Stone, and evolve into a fearless patriot who recruits and leads an army of freedom fighters in the streets of New York City. Players will fight through the streets of NY with seamless urban battles that take place outside as well as indoors. Because wars are not won alone, a key component of the game is the player’s ability to recruit and lead fellow New Yorkers in the battle against the Red Menace. An intuitive recruiting command system allows him to give orders to his fellow soldiers and execute critical missions at the touch of a single button.

Freedom Fighters was developed by Copenhagen-based Io Interactive and is being co-published by EA Partners under the EA GAMES brand. It is rated “T” (Teen) by the ESRB and has a US MSRP of $49.99 for PS2, Xbox and GameCube and $39.99 for PC. Additional information can be found at the EA Press web site: www.info.ea.com or www.freedomfighters.ea.com.

Temple of Elemental Evil to Ship Early

Atari and Troika Games are pleased to announce that The Temple of Elemental Evil™ will now ship on September 16th and not September 23rd as previously reported. After years of research into the science of time travel and the mysticism of interactive entertainment distribution, Atari has achieved a breakthrough in the melding of the two disciplines. As a result of this revolutionary achievement, The Temple of Elemental Evil will now appear on retail stores shelves nationwide seven days earlier than originally anticipated.
