Gold, greed, and gunfire as Iridon announces western shooter Wanted
Guns (thanks Frans) is the press release with word on plans for Wanted Guns,
"a story driven action game for the PC set in Mexico and the Wild West
during the American Civil War" slated for release this winter. The Wanted Guns
Website is also now online, dedicated to Iridon's game that combines "third
person action, horse-riding and sneak'em up assassination with a cinematography
inspired rail shooter FPS mode." Here's the provided feature list:
- A story driven western shooter that combines third and first person
gameplay, set in the dried up deserts of Mexico as well as the legendary
Wild West.
- Players will be shooting, riding, and sneaking their way through a variety
of locales including the Mexican ghost town of El Cuervo Perdido, the
abandoned mines of the McCrary brothers, and the renowned mountain woods of
Colorado.
- A slew of trigger happy enemies - ride 'em down with your horse or kill
them using an impressive arsenal of typical western firearms including dual
revolvers, barreled shotguns, Winchesters, and dynamite. In addition,
enemies can quietly be assassinated using the deadly Mexican cross-bow or a
razor-sharp Apache blade.
- A modernized western soundtrack inspired by the most classical
"western noir" motion pictures of the 1960's. Wanted Guns is
scheduled for release in select territories during Q4 2003. SRP as
appropriate for each territory. Rating pending.

Talk about a near miss... there's a Worst Movie
Ever Poll (thanks Philip Harris) that looks like it's part of the plan to
kick off a site. Now I haven't seen either of these, but in a year when both Gigli
and the American Idol Movie (currently the two lowest rated movies ever on the IMDB's
bottom 100 films) were released, they should at least have included a
write-in option. And what about Battlefield Earth and the Rollerball
remake? Or the classic Jaws 4? The results aren't even in and I demand
a recount!
