There's a Paradise Cracked Preview
on Games Domain (thanks Frans) with a look at Mistland's upcoming RPG.
Here's a bit on the cyberpunk setting: "Paradise Cracked is set some time
after humanity develops a huge, powerful computer, "Cyberbrain," to
solve all the world's problems. People spend most of their times online,
communicating, relating and entertaining themselves in virtual worlds, while
Cyberbrain's machines do all the work. Birth rates drop, and deprived of
real-life stimuli, mankind gets stupider."
Mistmare makes its North America
debut is the press release announcing that Sinister Systems' and Arxel
Tribe's "title that offers a unique blend of action, adventure and RPG
elements has shipped to retail stores nation wide." Here's a bit: "Mistmare
is an addictive mix of action, adventure and RPG elements, shrouded in a veil of
fog and excitement. Isador, a young monk, has been sent on a journey by the
Church to find the leader of the Harvesters, a radical sect that is threatening
the Church’s attempts at shielding Europe from the spread of the plague. Use
an incredible arsenal of weapons and tools to fight off monsters and enemies as
you search for the Harvesters and fight to protect Europe."

I'm struggling along with my temporary workspace on this aging flaky secondary
computer (not to be confused with my aging flaky primary computer). At least
what should be a fairly quiet holiday weekend is here, providing an opportunity
to rebuild one of them. I thought I'd get to see T3 at a matinee at some point
yesterday or today, but I guess my technical difficulties are going to make that
impossible. Damn the rise of these machines! You think SkyNet might be
responsible?
