Archived News:
NCsoft has announced that the online RPG formerly known as Trade Wars: Dark
Millennium has traded in that title to now be known as Exarch.
There's not much on the website but a blurb and a couple of screenshots, but the
press release announcing the name change promises updates over the coming
weeks. Here's a bit more from the release on the game, currently in
production at Phoenix-based Realm Interactive: "Exarch takes place
thousands of years in the future within a distant universe. The Empire has
recently collapsed, leaving the surviving Exarchs (the ruling governors of the
once proud Empire) in a struggle to save what remains. Players will choose sides
in an epic struggle that will determine the fate of all living things. Questing
will be integrated into practically every aspect of the game and will combine
combat with adventure in a world full of terrible monsters such as mutants,
undead, robots and dragons. The world will come alive thru the creative concepts
of well-known comic book artist Joe Madureira. Creator of the blockbuster comic
book series Battle Chasers and former artist of Marvel's Uncanny X-Men,
Madureira has been a leading force in the comic industry for more than a decade.
His unmistakable style of character design and visual storytelling have earned
him international acclaim and helped sell millions of books worldwide."

Out first winter in this house was two years ago, and the snow was pretty
extreme, about half-way through the season I began to regret not having sprung
for a snow-blower. Last year we had hardly any snow at all, making me feel smart
for having not succumbed to that snow-blower temptation late in the previous
winter. On the other hand, this year has been one of the most extreme I can ever
recall, and here we are in the first week of March, and sure enough it is
snowing heavily once again. Since this is the month that comes in like a lion
and goes out like a lamb, it certainly seems too late in the season to go for
the automated snow remover, and if the pattern from last time follows, one won't
be needed for next year either, but I may just try and be smart about this (for
a change) and try to pick one up during the off season after spring has sprung.
Of course, as luck would have it, if I pick up a snow blower, we'll probably go
ten straight years without a flake, but at this point, that's a risk I'm willing
to take. Yeesh.
