The Enter the
Matrix Video Game Website is now online, offering a FAQ, game info, and some
screenshots from the upcoming action/adventure Matrix game in the works
at Shiny Entertainment. According to the FAQ, "Enter the
Matrix will be released for all major platforms (PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC) on May
15, 2003, the same day as the release of the film The Matrix: Reloaded."
The Game Info section offers further details about gameplay, including the
following feature list: The story-within-the-story -- without the game,
you won’t see the entire Matrix Reloaded story

Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) Announces Finalists for 2003 Interactive Achievement Awards
is the press release announcing the finalists for this year's AIAS awards. SEGA's
Yu Suzuki will receive the Hall of Fame award, and Battlefield 1942 is the sole
PC nominee in the overall game of the year category. The full list of nominees
can be found on this
web site, and here are the PC game of the year nominees:
- Age of Mythology™, published by Microsoft, developed by Ensemble
Studios;
- Battlefield 1942, published by Electronic Arts, developed by Digital
Illusions;
- Medal of Honor Allied Assault™, published by Electronic Arts, developed

EA Ship Battlefield 1942 The Road to Rome for the PC
is the press release announcing the Sicilian campaign expansion for the World
War II combat game is now available. On a related note, Mega-Battlefield1942 Mega-Bf1942 + Editing
(thanks Tiscali Games) has 2D
overview maps of each of the areas included in the add-on. Here's a bit on The
Road to Rome from the press release: "Focusing on the Italian and Sicilian
campaigns of WWII, players can choose to fight on six new maps including
Operation Husky (Sicily) and the battles for Anzio and Monte Cassino. Each map
contains highly detailed environments featuring elements such as Italian houses,
Mediterranean trees and the Monte Cassino Monastery. Controllable vehicles are
the heart of the original Battlefield 1942 experience and The Road to Rome
delivers by offering eight new vehicles, including the German BF-110 and British
Mosquito twin-engine fighter-bombers, in addition to the more than 30 vehicles
in the original title. There are also new Italian, British and German vehicles
and anti-tank guns."

As promised, this NVIDIA
Game Spotlight & Download Page now features a new playable demo for Delta
Force Black Hawk Down, the latest installment in the DF series of tactical
shooters that's based in Mogadishu, Somalia. As was announced ( story),
the 132 MB demo, which contains a sample of both single- and multiplayer play,
is hosted there exclusively for a couple of days before mirrors will be
permitted to carry the file. Thanks Quboid. Also, there's a new Black Hawk
Down preview on PC.IGN.Com offering impressions of the game.
Though not yet on the Vietcong
Website, a new patch for the Vietcong multiplayer demo is now available,
updating the demo to version 0.98. The patch is approximately a 12 MB
download, and is
available here (direct FTP link), and mirrored on the
game's Czech Fansite and Tiscali Games.

Following up on their earlier beta demo release, the official demo version of
NASCAR Racing Season 2003 is now available on Sierra's
FTP directory. The 119 MB demo offers the opportunity to try out two of the
stock car racing game's tracks, and a mirror can be found on 3D Gamers.

Page has a new version 1.40 patch for SuperPower, GolemLabs' game of global
domination. There are no details on what's new and different, but there are
separate patches available for those who have already patched to version 1.30
and another for those who have not.

Key3Media Group Files for Bankruptcy
(thanks David Webber) is a story citing "declining attendance at its
signature trade show, along with a slumping technology industry and dwindling
public fascination with the personal computer," in reporting "Los
Angeles-based Key3Media Group, the company operating the giant Comdex trade
show, filed for protection from its creditors Monday in the United States
Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del." According to the story, there is no
plan to cancel this November's Las Vegas show at this time.
The Qtracker Homepage now offers a new
version 3.4 of this utility that offers more functions than a Swiss Army knife,
including its primary function as a game server browser. The new version adds
support for the IGI-2: Covert Strike Demo, James Bond 007: Nightfire, and Medal
of Honor: Allied Assault Spearhead while QtUplink adds support for Aliens vs
Predator 2, Drakan, the IGI-2: Covert Strike Demo, James Bond 007: Nightfire,

has been added for multi-ip computers as well as XP-style controls, and numerous

A new version 0.96r002 of the Crystal Space 3D
engine is now available, addressing a couple of problems that have shown up in

There's something strange going on outside hereabouts... something seems to have
happened to the snow to cause it to fall as water (I think there's a name for
this phenomenon, but it's been too long to remember), and even odder, this water
is causing most of the snow already on the ground to go away. Freaky stuff!
