A post to Asheron's Call Vault
has word of a brouhaha brewing over the international billing for Asheron's Call
2, the quite imminent MMORPG sequel. MS has subsequently posted an
apology for not making the information available sooner that they posted to this
forum thread. Here's the situation all this is referring to: We are
using a completely new billing system for Asheron's Call 2 so that we can better
serve our customers in the countries outlined above. Unfortunately, you will
need a credit card that is based in one of these countries to set up your
Asheron's Call 2 account. We know this was not the case with AC1, and some of
you in other countries will not be able to register on launch day, but we
continue to investigate the countries that we can expand service into but we
don't have any further information at this time.
There is a walkthrough on
the Another War Website offering tips on making it through this WW2 RPG with
your virtual skin intact. Also, Basic Lugian Learning
on PC.IGN.Com offers a quick guide for Asheron's Call 2 players interested
in following "the way of the tactician" in Turbine's MMORPG sequel.

I had a wonderful time last night, MrsBlue found a fabulous out-of-the-way
restaurant called Peter Pratt's to take me to, and it all couldn't have been
more pleasant. Thanks to all of you who have been offering birthday wishes, they
are all appreciated. I had my stroke of birthday luck yesterday too, a gift from
the fates I suppose, as the fan that had failed in my system was indeed the
culprit behind the lock-ups I was experiencing... the gift part being actually
being able to lay hands quickly on the replacement fan, rather than suffering
through knowing it was tucked away somewhere, but being unable to find it, which
so often seems to happen in cases like this.
We've been getting more and more noisy ads here, so I made a request that we
get back to strong silent type of ad that's so much more preferable, and
this seems to have been heeded. Sorry it had to come to that, hopefully this
won't be one of those problems that needs to be re-addressed any time soon.
