Out of the Blue

I haven't gotten to Denny's (or a Denny's clone) for my QuakeCon tribute yet, but I realize there is another aspect of the event that I am able to enjoy without being there, it's our remarkably Dallas/Mesquite-like weather (again our hats-off for the resolve they show in sticking to their sweaty guns and holding the convention in August every year), as it's expected to reach 92° here today. Now if I only had one of the web lawnmowers from the links below, since it's really too hot for that sort of thing, though on the bright side, it's so hot we may just get a brush fire to take care of this by itself.

Link of the Day: Miserable Melodies. Thanks Tim.
Stories of the Day: Catching crooks with e-mail evidence. Thanks Mike Martinez.
Weird Science: Web lawnmower makes short work of long grass. Thanks Mike Martinez.
Rural America Takes to Makeshift Broadband. Thanks theAntiELVIS.
Wild Science: Many hope for clear skies to view asteroid. Thanks Mike Martinez.
To Boldly Paint What No Man Has Painted Before. Thanks again Mike Martinez.
Media of the Day: The Happy Tree Friends (Flash required). Thanks David Webber.
60's goodness. Thanks Nicole. Related to today's Link of the Day.
Auction of the Day: OWN YOUR OWN ALIEN ALMOST 4' TALL FEMALE. Thanks devilbunny, who adds: "This is disturbing on so many levels."
