Termite Games has issued a dedicated server update for New World Order, available for download from Worthplaying, upgrading the beta of their team-based tactical shooter to version 2.1. The modest 846 KB download should ensure the dedicated server works now, adds several server options, improves networking, and more.
Todd Hollenshead talks out on Doom III
on Ferrago.co.uk is a Q&A with the id Software CEO to talk about their upcoming
DOOM sequel. They discuss the challenges of returning to creating a
single-player focused game, how they are creating the game's frightening
atmosphere, how the plot will unfold, realistic environments, weapons, their

which as that title suggests, are in the site's native German, but a quick

tells us this is from a recent Activision press release and provides a couple of
new revelations, including a description of a new monster with two rocket
launchers on his shoulders.
There's a brief The
Thing Preview on Computer and Video Games with some hands-on impressions of
Computer Artworks' now-gold squad-based third-person horror/survival game based
on the movie of the same name. They describe the story and setting, the feat and
loathing of gameplay, controls, and more. There is also another quick preview

after their attendance of a recent event to show off the publisher's upcoming PC
titles to the press. In addition to a
preview of the Civilization III: Play the World expansion and RollerCoaster
Tycoon 2 they have posted a
preview of Unreal II: The Awakening offering a rundown of what's in store for
players of Legend Entertainment's upcoming Unreal sequel, describing the story,
settings, enemies, AI, weapons, and more. They've also posted a
new Unreal Tournament 2003 preview with another look at Digital Extreme's
upcoming FPS sequel offering impressions of the game's demonstration, though not
much has changed in the all of five days since their last preview of the game
( story).

Had a lovely time with our new niece yesterday. I guess all babies are referred
to as bundles of joy, but this is a pretty joyful baby... calm, composed, and
smiley for the most part... which I'm pretty impressed by considering at that
age she can't see too well, can't really understand what's going on around her,
and was constantly being passed around to grandparents, aunts, and uncles for
ongoing mooshing sessions accented by doofy baby talk. She's not a crier, but
considering all that, it's not too surprising that some of them are.
