Wings Simulations and JoWood have released a playable demo of Panzer Elite Special Edition, the re-issued version of this World War II tank simulation that originally came out in 1999, available as featured download on The Wargamer. The demo requires a 51.4 MB download and offers one single-player scenario where you command an American tank platoon, as well as an instant action mode where you can experience hot metal on the American and German sides using a variety of tank types.
- Battlefield 1942
Dutch site Gamers.nl took its beta build of Battlefield 1942 for some exercise and captured a whopping 60 new screenshots of Digital Illusions' vehicular 3D action game this week, spread out over day 1, day 2, day 3 and day 4 & 5.
- Purge
The official Purge site has been updated with a dozen new screenshots of this online 3D action role-playing game by Freeform Interactive, as well as word that beta phase 1 has concluded but phase 2 is imminent.

The ThreeWave CTF Website now has a new
version 1.6 of Threewave Capture the Flag for Quake III Arena. A change log of
what's fixed and an executable installer are promised soon, but a previous
update mentions this small patch is meant to fix a few bugs from version 1.5.
